Ishizu Ishtar

Ishizu is composed, patient and strongly devoted to her family. Even when Marik commits acts she cannot support, she refuses to abandon the belief that her younger brother can be saved.

Her possession of the Millennium Necklace contributes to an unusual degree of certainty. Because she can see future events, Ishizu frequently speaks as though outcomes have already been decided, giving her an enigmatic and sometimes unsettling calm.

She nevertheless possesses enough humility to reconsider that certainty. Her experiences during Battle City demonstrate that the future is not necessarily immutable and that individual choices can disrupt outcomes she believed were inevitable.

Ishizu possesses the Millennium Necklace, which allows her to perceive visions of both the past and future. She uses those visions to guide her actions against Marik and to prepare for events surrounding Battle City.

She is also a capable duelist. Her Deck revolves around manipulating cards in the Graveyard and punishing opponents for following predicted lines of play. This makes her style particularly effective when combined with the Necklace's foresight.

During her duel against Kaiba, Ishizu structures her entire strategy around a future she has already witnessed, carefully leading him toward the circumstances she believes will ensure his defeat.

Ishizu approaches Kaiba as a representative of the Egyptian antiquities authorities and shows him a tablet depicting an ancient confrontation involving the Pharaoh. She provides him with an Egyptian God Card and encourages the creation of Battle City as part of a larger attempt to recover the remaining God Cards.

Her true objective is not tournament glory. Ishizu is trying to stop Marik and the Ghouls while creating circumstances that can return the God Cards to the Pharaoh.

She enters Battle City herself and reaches the finals, where she faces Kaiba. The future predicted by her Millennium Necklace changes when Kaiba unexpectedly chooses to summon Blue-Eyes White Dragon rather than follow the course Ishizu had foreseen, proving to her that destiny can be altered.

Marik Ishtar is Ishizu's younger brother and the central reason for many of her actions during Battle City. Despite everything Marik Ishtar does, Ishizu remains determined to save him.

Rishid Ishtar is Ishizu's adoptive older brother and shares her concern for Marik Ishtar. Both Ishizu and Rishid Ishtar try to restrain the destructive forces surrounding their younger brother.

Seto Kaiba receives information and an Egyptian God Card from Ishizu, enabling her to steer him toward organizing Battle City. Their later duel tests Ishizu's confidence in the future shown by the Millennium Necklace.

Yugi Mutou is connected to Ishizu through the Pharaoh and the ancient duty of the Tomb Keepers. She believes Yugi Mutou's involvement is essential to recovering the Pharaoh's memories.
