Integra is disciplined, proud, severe, and intensely committed to duty. She places the survival of Britain and the responsibilities of the Hellsing family above personal comfort, treating the organization's mission as an inherited obligation that cannot be abandoned simply because the threats are terrifying.

She rarely allows fear to become visible. Even Alucard, whose personality and power overwhelm most people around him, receives direct commands rather than cautious requests. Integra understands exactly how dangerous he is but considers command meaningful only if she is willing to exercise it.

Her severity extends to herself. Integra expects competence from subordinates because she holds herself to the same standard, and failures that endanger the organization provoke intense anger. Her calm public manner can therefore break into explosive fury when Hellsing personnel behave carelessly or when enemies violate her authority.

Integra's patriotism and Anglican identity are important parts of her worldview, but she is also pragmatic. Her willingness to employ vampires demonstrates that results matter more to her than simplistic claims of purity. What she demands from Alucard and Seras is loyalty and controlled strength rather than humanity.

Integra has no supernatural ability. Her strength lies in leadership, strategic judgment, firearms training, swordsmanship, and exceptional composure under pressure.

She is an accomplished marksman. Integra can use handguns accurately under combat conditions and has demonstrated the ability to hit small moving targets even when supernatural fighters are involved. Manga-derived character material specifically credits her with shooting Anderson's moving bayonets with extreme precision.

Integra is also trained with a saber and retains fencing ability throughout her life. Her skill does not place her physically alongside monsters such as Alucard or Anderson, but she is far from helpless when Hellsing Headquarters is attacked.

Her most consequential form of power is her authority over Alucard. The Hellsing family's control system recognizes Integra as his master, and Alucard requires her authorization to release the deepest restrictions on his abilities, including Level Zero.

As Hellsing's director, she also commands military personnel, intelligence networks, equipment, and negotiations with the British government and Round Table. Her ability to maintain political authority while supernatural warfare erupts around her is as important as any personal weapon.

Integra inherits the Hellsing family mission after the death of her father Arthur Hellsing. Still very young, she immediately becomes vulnerable to relatives who believe leadership should pass to an adult male instead.

Her uncle Richard attempts to murder her and seize control of Hellsing. Following her father's instructions, Integra reaches the basement where Alucard has been sealed. Her blood awakens the vampire, who kills Richard's men and acknowledges Integra as his new master.

Years later, Integra runs Hellsing as a mature commander. She deploys Alucard against supernatural outbreaks and accepts Seras into the organization after Alucard turns the policewoman into a vampire.

The emergence of Millennium transforms Hellsing's mission from isolated vampire extermination into war. Integra must manage relations with the British government, the Vatican, Hellsing's own forces, and enemies capable of converting large numbers of humans into supernatural soldiers.

The destruction inflicted upon Hellsing's conventional manpower forces her increasingly to rely upon Alucard, Seras, Walter, and later the Wild Geese mercenaries commanded by Pip Bernadotte.

During the attack on London, Integra remains in command while the city becomes a battlefield between Millennium, Hellsing, and Iscariot. Her most important order authorizes Alucard's Level Zero release, allowing him to deploy the full army of familiars stored within him.

Walter's betrayal becomes one of Integra's most personal blows because she trusted him not merely as a servant but as a guardian and father figure. She ultimately orders Alucard to kill him despite the emotional cost.

After Alucard disappears following Millennium's final plan, Integra continues directing Hellsing with Seras as its principal supernatural operative. Decades later, Alucard returns to her after restoring his sense of self.

Alucard is Integra's servant, weapon, and most dangerous subordinate. Alucard repeatedly tests her resolve, yet he obeys because Integra consistently proves willing to command him rather than fear him. Her authority extends to releasing the restrictions controlling his powers.

Seras Victoria becomes another supernatural member of Integra's organization. Integra trusts Seras Victoria's self-control enough to treat her increasingly as a reliable operative rather than an unstable fledgling vampire. Their companionship deepens as Seras remains beside Hellsing over the years.

Walter C. Dornez serves Integra as butler, adviser, bodyguard, and trusted elder. Walter C. Dornez fills a paternal role after her father's death, making his eventual betrayal especially devastating to Integra.

Arthur Hellsing is Integra's father and predecessor as head of Hellsing. Arthur Hellsing prepares her to inherit the family's mission and leaves information that allows her to reach Alucard when her life is threatened.
