Ideo is confident, competitive, and strongly motivated by personal improvement. Unlike many Corrida Colosseum competitors, his interest in the Mera Mera no Mi is closely tied to his desire to increase his strength.

He also possesses a pronounced sense of honor. Experiences with former rivals gradually convince him that people from hostile groups can cooperate rather than perpetuate inherited conflicts.

Ideo is an elite boxer whose long arms allow him to generate exceptional punching force. His punches produce explosive impacts powerful enough to strike opponents from a distance and compete with other renowned martial artists.

He is a four-time champion of the New World Central Fighting Tournament, establishing him as an accomplished combat athlete before entering the Corrida Colosseum.

Ideo participates in Block C of the Corrida Colosseum tournament and later becomes one of the gladiators transformed into toys by the Donquixote Pirates.

After being restored, he joins the alliance fighting Doflamingo's forces. Following Dressrosa, he becomes one of the captains associated with the Straw Hat Grand Fleet and later forms the Ideo Pirates.

Sai becomes Ideo's major rival during the Corrida Colosseum tournament.

Blue Gilly, Abdullah, and Jeet become Ideo's companions after Dressrosa. Monkey D. Luffy earns Ideo's loyalty through the conflict against Doflamingo.
