Hyuse

ヒュース

Story Role

Hyuse arrives with Aftokrator's expedition force during the Large-Scale Invasion. He and Viza are initially deployed together before Hyuse encounters Jin.

Jin deliberately occupies Hyuse for a significant portion of the invasion, preventing him from rejoining Aftokrator's central operation. By the time the expedition withdraws, Hyuse remains in Mikado City and is taken into Tamakoma's custody.

He does not initially consider himself a Border ally. Hyuse cooperates pragmatically while maintaining his intention to return to Aftokrator, and his knowledge becomes potentially valuable because Border is preparing its own Away Mission.

Osamu eventually offers him a route home: join Tamakoma Second, help the squad qualify for the expedition, and travel back toward Aftokrator with them. Hyuse accepts because their objectives overlap.

His addition significantly changes Tamakoma Second. Yuuma is no longer its only elite close-range fighter, allowing the squad to divide offensive responsibilities and survive situations where opponents isolate one ace. Hyuse also contributes tactical assessments drawn from warfare outside Border's controlled Rank War environment.

During the final B-Rank battles, Hyuse becomes both an asset and a liability because opponents recognize that isolating him can prevent Tamakoma from exploiting its two-ace structure. His performances demonstrate that exceptional individual skill still depends on squad positioning and information.

Hyuse's motivation for returning to Aftokrator is tied specifically to the fate of his master and House Ellin. Information obtained during the invasion leads him to suspect that political decisions in Aftokrator may place the person he serves in grave danger, making the Away Mission more urgent than simple homesickness.
