Personality
Personality
Hyuse is serious, proud, disciplined, and extremely competitive. He has been trained as a soldier rather than a civilian teenager, so he often treats ordinary disagreements as matters to be resolved through clear rules, measurable results, or demonstrations of skill.
His loyalty to his homeland remains strong even after living at Tamakoma. Hyuse does not suddenly become hostile toward Aftokrator because circumstances change; his primary goal is to return to House Ellin, and he openly tells Border that his cooperation is based on that objective.
He is blunt and frequently stubborn, especially when he believes a tactically correct choice is being rejected for emotional reasons. This creates friction with Osamu and Chika but also gives Tamakoma Second a perspective shaped by real Neighbor military doctrine.
Living with Tamakoma gradually exposes a more ordinary side of Hyuse. He becomes competitive over games, adapts surprisingly quickly to local food and customs, and develops a close bond with Youtarou Rindou, even while insisting that returning home remains his priority.
Abilities & Powers
Abilities & Powers
Hyuse is an elite Trigger combatant with extensive military experience. Before joining Border, he fights using Lambiris, an Aftokrator Trigger built around numerous magnetic crystalline fragments.
Lambiris can arrange its fragments into shields, projectiles, restraints, footholds, and larger structures. Hyuse can magnetize targets struck by fragments, then manipulate their movement or pin them to surfaces. The Trigger combines offense, defense, mobility, and battlefield control in a single system.
After entering Border, Hyuse cannot use Lambiris in Rank Wars and instead builds a standard Border Trigger Set. He specializes in Kogetsu, quickly demonstrating that his underlying swordsmanship remains elite even without Aftokrator technology.
He combines Kogetsu with Senkuu, giving his blade greatly extended reach for brief attacks. Hyuse also learns Escudo, deploying large Trion walls from floors and other surfaces to reshape the battlefield, separate opponents, provide cover, or even propel targets by creating walls beneath them.
His high Trion and broad technical experience allow him to incorporate Shooter Triggers as well. Rather than specializing narrowly, Hyuse uses multiple options to create situations in which his swordsmanship can decide the fight.
Story Role
Story Role
Hyuse arrives with Aftokrator's expedition force during the Large-Scale Invasion. He and Viza are initially deployed together before Hyuse encounters Jin.
Jin deliberately occupies Hyuse for a significant portion of the invasion, preventing him from rejoining Aftokrator's central operation. By the time the expedition withdraws, Hyuse remains in Mikado City and is taken into Tamakoma's custody.
He does not initially consider himself a Border ally. Hyuse cooperates pragmatically while maintaining his intention to return to Aftokrator, and his knowledge becomes potentially valuable because Border is preparing its own Away Mission.
Osamu eventually offers him a route home: join Tamakoma Second, help the squad qualify for the expedition, and travel back toward Aftokrator with them. Hyuse accepts because their objectives overlap.
His addition significantly changes Tamakoma Second. Yuuma is no longer its only elite close-range fighter, allowing the squad to divide offensive responsibilities and survive situations where opponents isolate one ace. Hyuse also contributes tactical assessments drawn from warfare outside Border's controlled Rank War environment.
During the final B-Rank battles, Hyuse becomes both an asset and a liability because opponents recognize that isolating him can prevent Tamakoma from exploiting its two-ace structure. His performances demonstrate that exceptional individual skill still depends on squad positioning and information.
Hyuse's motivation for returning to Aftokrator is tied specifically to the fate of his master and House Ellin. Information obtained during the invasion leads him to suspect that political decisions in Aftokrator may place the person he serves in grave danger, making the Away Mission more urgent than simple homesickness.
Relationships
Relationships
Osamu Mikumo becomes Hyuse's captain after offering him a mutually useful path back to Aftokrator. Although [Hyuse] cannot be self-linked, Osamu Mikumo earns his cooperation by dealing honestly with the conditions under which he will join Tamakoma Second.
Yuuma Kuga is Hyuse's fellow Neighbor and Attacker. Both possess substantial real combat experience, making Yuuma Kuga one of the few Tamakoma members capable of immediately assessing Hyuse at his proper level. Their presence gives the squad two highly adaptable aces.
Chika Amatori is Hyuse's teammate and one of the largest Trion holders he encounters on Earth. Chika Amatori's reluctance to shoot people frustrates Hyuse because he sees her power primarily through its tactical potential, though he ultimately works within the team's understanding of her limitations.
Yuuichi Jin defeats and delays Hyuse during the Large-Scale Invasion. Yuuichi Jin's Foresight makes him an especially difficult opponent, and Hyuse remains wary of how much Jin may already know about his decisions.
Youtarou Rindou becomes Hyuse's closest companion during his stay at Tamakoma. Hyuse often acts annoyed by Youtarou Rindou's behavior but consistently looks after him, creating a relationship closer to that of older and younger brothers than prisoner and guard.
Takumi Rindou supervises Hyuse's presence at Tamakoma and allows him considerably more freedom than Border headquarters might otherwise grant an enemy soldier.
Viza is Hyuse's senior companion in Aftokrator's expedition force. Hyuse treats Viza with significant respect, reflecting Viza's status as one of Aftokrator's most experienced warriors.
Reghindetz and other Galopoula agents later interact with Hyuse under circumstances where his Aftokrator identity could create serious complications for Border.
Hyuse's Master is the head of House Ellin and the person to whom Hyuse's deepest loyalty belongs. The possibility that his master may be selected as Aftokrator's next sacrifice is the principal reason Hyuse becomes desperate to return home quickly.
