Hiromi Kisaragi

Kisaragi is fixated on strength and repeatedly describes strength as beautiful. His obsession grows from insecurity: his slight, feminine appearance has made him a target of bullying, leaving him envious of people who possess overwhelming physical power.

Rather than simply resenting stronger athletes, Kisaragi idolizes them. Gaou represents the kind of strength he lacks, and Kisaragi becomes fiercely committed to helping him and Hakushuu succeed.

That commitment can become self-destructive. Kisaragi is willing to place his own comparatively frail body in dangerous situations if doing so creates an advantage for his team.

Kisaragi has below-average strength and stamina compared with elite football players, while his speed and jumping ability are not extraordinary enough to compensate directly.

Instead, he specializes in the Ptera Claw. Kisaragi uses his unusually slender arm to work it between a receiver's arms and the football, disrupting the catch and ripping the ball loose.

The technique turns a physical characteristic usually treated as a weakness into a specialized defensive advantage. He does not need to overpower the receiver if he can attack the small space around the ball.

Kisaragi joins Hakushuu after encountering Gaou and becoming fascinated by his enormous strength. He develops into one of the team's specialist defenders while Hakushuu builds its identity around overwhelming physical power.

His presence also demonstrates that Hakushuu is not composed exclusively of enormous athletes. Kisaragi contributes through a technique specifically designed around his unusual physique.

During the match against Deimon, Kisaragi deliberately places himself in a collision involving Gaou to interfere with Kurita's protection of Hiruma. The tactic reflects how far his devotion to strength and Hakushuu is willing to go.

Rikiya Gaou is the player Kisaragi admires most intensely. Rikiya Gaou's overwhelming physical strength represents the quality Kisaragi has desired throughout his life.

Reiji Maruko is Hakushuu's captain and quarterback, directing the team in which Kisaragi serves as a specialist defensive back.

Ryokan Kurita becomes part of the physical confrontation through which Kisaragi attempts to support Hakushuu against Deimon.
