Hertrauda Sera Fanoss

Hertrauda is cautious, diligent and strongly devoted to the Principality of Fanoss. She carries herself carefully and considers the interests of her nation before her personal comfort.

Her devotion can become self-sacrificing. Hertrauda has been raised with the understanding that the royal family exists to serve Fanoss, and she is prepared to accept enormous personal danger if she believes it will protect the principality.

She is less openly confrontational than some of Fanoss's military leaders. This does not make her weak; instead, she approaches conflict with the seriousness of someone aware that decisions made by royalty can determine the survival of thousands of people.

Hertrauda possesses the ability to command monsters through the supernatural resources available to the Fanoss royal family. Her forces include an enormous monster horde capable of accompanying the principality's aerial fleet.

She commands a major armada and represents one of Fanoss's most important strategic assets. The combination of conventional warships and controlled monsters allows her forces to threaten Holfort on a national scale.

Her role in the larger war places her at the center of the principality's most dangerous military plan, where the power used to control and deploy monsters carries consequences extending far beyond ordinary warfare.

Hertrauda enters the conflict after the initial clashes between Fanoss and Holfort have already demonstrated Leon's ability to overturn conventional military expectations.

She commands a second major Fanoss force, including an armada and monster horde large enough to darken the sky. Her presence makes clear that defeating one invasion force does not exhaust the principality's military strength.

Hertrauda is also notable because Leon does not remember her from the original first game's scenario. Material associated with the wider game setting connects her to events beyond the story he originally believed he understood. Her actions during the war ultimately become central to the fate of both the Fanoss royal family and the principality itself.

Hertrude Sera Fanoss is Hertrauda's older sister. Both princesses are deeply attached to their homeland, though circumstances place them in different positions during the war.

Vandel Him Zenden is the Black Knight who protects the sisters. Vandel Him Zenden treats Hertrauda Sera Fanoss and Hertrude Sera Fanoss with a paternal protectiveness rarely visible in his interactions with anyone else.

Leon Fou Bartfort becomes one of the principal obstacles to Fanoss's military campaign and therefore a major enemy of the forces commanded by Hertrauda.
