Haruko

Haruko is polite, candid and kind, but frustrated by the spirits she sees. She discusses them openly even though other people find the subject disturbing.

Her breakup leaves her despondent enough to threaten suicide, but her panic when attacked shows that she still wants to live. She is also a capable cook and prepares meals for her boyfriend.

Haruko has enough spiritual awareness to see Pluses, Shinigami and Hollows. She can sense changes in spiritual pressure and distinguish a Hollow presence from an ordinary human.

She has no combat abilities and is vulnerable to possession.

Haruko meets Ichigo Kurosaki while asking for directions, then sees his Shinigami form in the sky. Her boyfriend Ken ends their relationship after she again speaks about supernatural beings.

Kon, occupying Ichigo’s body, interrupts Haruko’s attempt to jump from a bridge. A Tapeworm Hollow later possesses both Ken and Haruko, but Kon forces it out of her. Ichigo destroys the creature, and Rukia erases Haruko and Ken’s memories of the incident.

Ken is Haruko’s boyfriend, whose rejection triggers her crisis. Kon intervenes repeatedly and promises to protect her.

Ichigo Kurosaki destroys the Hollow that possesses her. Rukia Kuchiki removes Haruko’s memories after the battle.
