Hae-In Cha

Hae-In is serious, diligent and meticulous about her responsibilities. Even after a dungeon has been cleared, she personally inspects areas where mining and collection teams are working because she does not want lower-ranked personnel exposed to overlooked monsters.

Despite her status, she is not arrogant toward weaker Hunters. She speaks respectfully to support personnel and continues training her swordsmanship under Chi-Yul Song even after reaching S-Rank. Outside combat she is more socially awkward, particularly when embarrassed or dealing with romantic feelings.

Her interest in Jin-U begins with his unusual scent but quickly extends to his character and abilities. As their relationship develops, Hae-In falls in love with him and becomes one of the people closest to him. In the revised timeline created after the final war, the two eventually marry and have a son, Sung Suho.

Hae-In is one of South Korea's strongest melee Hunters. Her exceptional speed and refined swordsmanship produce flowing movements that earned her the unwanted nickname "The Dancer." She combines precise technique with the physical strength, durability and reactions expected of an S-Rank.

Her abilities include Sword Dance, a rapid sequence of sword attacks, and Sword of Light, which channels mana through her weapon for a powerful strike. She also possesses Quake of Provocation, allowing her to draw an enemy's attention toward herself.

Hae-In's mana sensitivity is exceptionally acute. She can detect Hunters and magical beings through scent, although this makes ordinary Hunters smell unpleasant to her. Her strength is demonstrated when she defeats the restricted Igris during Jin-U's test of her abilities, though Beru proves substantially stronger.

Hae-In first becomes directly involved with Jin-U when he works with the Hunters Guild's mining team during an A-Rank dungeon operation. She immediately notices that he does not carry the unpleasant mana odor she associates with other Hunters and becomes suspicious of his apparently low status.

After witnessing evidence of his abilities, she grows increasingly interested in him. Her role expands during preparations for the fourth Jeju Island raid, where she joins the Korean S-Rank strike team alongside Yun-Ho Baek, Jong-In Choi, Byung-Gyu Min and the other participating Hunters.

During the Jeju raid, the Ant King overwhelms Hae-In and leaves her critically injured. Jin-U later arrives, defeats the Ant King and uses Byung-Gyu's extracted shadow to heal her before releasing the healer's shadow afterward. Beyond Jeju, Hae-In attempts to join Jin-U's newly formed Ahjin Guild and becomes increasingly important in his personal life as the conflict with the Monarchs develops.

Jin-U Seong initially interests Hae-In because he is the only Hunter whose mana does not smell unpleasant to her. Her curiosity develops into romantic love, and in the revised timeline they eventually marry and become the parents of Sung Suho.

Chi-Yul Song is Hae-In's swordsmanship instructor, whom she continues visiting for training despite already being an S-Rank Hunter.

Jong-In Choi is the Guild Master of the Hunters Guild, where Hae-In serves as Vice-Guild Master.

Yun-Ho Baek fights alongside Hae-In as part of South Korea's Jeju Island raid team.

Byung-Gyu Min is another member of the Jeju raid party. After his death, Jin-U temporarily extracts his shadow specifically to heal Hae-In.

Igris duels Hae-In when Jin-U tests whether she is strong enough to join his guild.
