Igris

Igris is disciplined, chivalrous and exceptionally loyal. Even before becoming a shadow, he demonstrates a warrior's sense of fairness by discarding his sword after Jin-U loses his own weapons, choosing to continue their duel under more equal conditions.

As a shadow soldier, he treats Jin-U with formal respect and frequently kneels before him. He takes his responsibilities seriously and is considerably more restrained than some of the Shadow Army's more eccentric members.

After the restrictions on his original abilities are removed, Igris regains his ability to speak and displays a more developed personality. He values education as well as combat and remains one of Jin-U's most dependable commanders.

Igris is an exceptional swordsman whose technique, speed and physical strength initially push Jin-U to his limits. He combines precise sword strikes with excellent reactions and close-combat ability, remaining dangerous even when disarmed.

After becoming a shadow, Igris gains the standard properties of Jin-U's Shadow Army. He can be stored within shadows, summoned when required and regenerate from otherwise fatal damage as long as sufficient mana is available.

Igris grows alongside the Shadow Army and becomes progressively stronger through combat. His original strength was restricted while Jin-U was being prepared to inherit the Shadow Monarch's full power. Once those restrictions disappear, Igris returns to Marshal Grade and becomes one of the strongest soldiers in the army, alongside Beru and beneath Grand Marshal Bellion.

Jin-U encounters Igris at the end of the Job Change Quest dungeon. The knight guards an empty throne and engages him in a brutal duel that forces Jin-U to rely on close combat after conventional attacks fail to overcome Igris's armor and technique.

After completing the quest and acquiring Shadow Extraction, Jin-U attempts to turn Igris into a shadow soldier. His first attempts fail, but he appeals to the knight's sense of duty, arguing that protecting him would be more meaningful than continuing to guard an empty throne. Igris then rises and joins his army.

From that point onward, Igris becomes one of Jin-U's principal combatants, participating in major dungeon raids and battles. He is eventually revealed to have served the previous Shadow Monarch long before meeting Jin-U and to have been placed in the Job Change Quest specifically to test the prospective successor.

Jin-U Seong defeats Igris and subsequently becomes his master. Igris develops unwavering loyalty toward him and serves as one of his principal commanders.

Beru eventually serves alongside Igris as another Marshal of the Shadow Army.

Iron fights alongside Igris as a shadow soldier, although Igris is frequently irritated by his less dignified behavior.

Bellion outranks Igris as Grand Marshal of the Shadow Army and serves alongside him after the full army reaches Jin-U.
