Gou Koga

Koga is mature, disciplined and more concerned with the Bounts’ survival than with revenge for its own sake. Although initially loyal to Kariya, he questions strategies that needlessly sacrifice followers.

His failed guardianship of Cain leaves him deeply remorseful. The experience strengthens his protective instincts and gives his bond with Dalk a distinctly familial quality.

Koga possesses exceptional physical strength even without Dalk, overpowering armed opponents with his bare hands. As a Bount, he can absorb souls and environmental reishi to heal or reinforce his body.

Dalk is a sentient metallic Doll capable of rearranging her molecules into blades, armor, projectiles and other weapons. After her body is destroyed, Koga reforms her remains into a battle-axe.

Koga helps Kariya strengthen the Bounts and invade Soul Society but becomes disturbed when his leader reveals a plan to destroy Seireitei outright. Kariya attacks him and leaves him for dead when he refuses to cooperate.

Koga survives and tries to stop Kariya, only to encounter Toshiro Hitsugaya. Hitsugaya defeats and freezes him but does not kill him. Yoruichi secretly brings Koga to Ran'Tao, who treats his wounds; he becomes the last surviving Bount.

Jin Kariya is Koga’s former leader and longtime associate. Their alliance ends when Koga rejects Kariya’s annihilation plan.

Dalk is Koga’s devoted Doll and closest companion. Cain is the young Bount entrusted to Koga’s care, whose death continues to haunt him.

Toshiro Hitsugaya defeats Koga without killing him. Yoruichi Shihouin rescues him, and Ran'Tao oversees his recovery.
