Eeva Gund

Eeva is stoic, ruthless and intensely concerned with martial honor. He displays little emotion in ordinary circumstances, but personal vengeance can override any wider responsibility he might feel toward his civilization.

He is supremely confident in his fighting ability, with good reason. Human Gantz teams that can slaughter ordinary giant soldiers pose little immediate threat to him.

That confidence eventually becomes destructive obsession. Eeva is willing to place enormous numbers of lives at risk to force the confrontation he wants.

Eeva possesses exceptional strength even by the standards of the giant aliens. His strikes can overwhelm Gantz protection rapidly, and he can physically dominate hunters who rely on enhanced suits for superhuman strength.

His defining ability is speed. Eeva moves quickly enough that experienced hunters have difficulty visually tracking him, and his reflexes allow him to respond to simultaneous attacks from several directions.

He combines that speed with exceptional combat awareness. An American Gantz team attacks him as a coordinated group, yet Eeva reads the assault and eliminates the team without suffering meaningful injury.

Eeva first becomes connected to Kurono during the human assault on the alien mothership. He is already recognized as a celebrated warrior among his own people before taking a direct interest in the Tokyo hunters.

His brother Oltra is defeated by Kurono, turning Eeva's role in the conflict into a personal quest for revenge. He begins actively searching for Kurono and eventually demands a direct confrontation.

After the alien civilization's defeat becomes inevitable, Eeva threatens to crash the mothership into Earth unless Kurono fights him, which would destroy both species. Their resulting duel becomes the final major battle of the series.

Oltra is Eeva's brother. Oltra's defeat and death at Kurono's hands become the principal reason Eeva pursues a personal confrontation with the human fighter.

Kei Kurono becomes Eeva's chosen opponent and the focus of his revenge. Eeva eventually threatens both humanity and his own surviving people to force Kurono into a final duel.

Masaru Katou and Daizaemon Kaze are among the experienced hunters who attempt to fight Eeva and discover how far his physical ability exceeds that of ordinary opponents.

Fra Rarada identifies Eeva as a national hero and the "God of War" of the giant civilization.
