Dist

Dist is arrogant, mercenary and opportunistic. He accepts Duke Cream's assignment to retrieve Éclair for payment and leads an assault on Fairy Tail's guildhall to accomplish the job. His willingness to attack the guild and abduct their client shows little concern for anyone outside his immediate objective.

His strongest motivation is self-interest. Once the Phoenix is actually summoned, Dist abandons any pretense of serving Cream and attempts to claim its immortality for himself.

Dist is capable of flight and aerial combat through his equipment, giving him considerable mobility against ground-based opponents. He also possesses sufficient magical and physical combat ability to confront Natsu during the climactic battle surrounding the Phoenix.

His strength is substantial enough for him to lead Carbuncle's assault force, whose members are individually assigned against Fairy Tail's experienced mages. Dist's battle with Natsu becomes the principal one-on-one confrontation involving Carbuncle's leader.

Duke Cream hires Dist and Carbuncle to capture Éclair and recover the missing half of the Phoenix Stone before Veronica's 400th anniversary celebration. Dist leads Cannon, Chase and Coordinator in attacking Fairy Tail's guildhall, causing extensive destruction and successfully abducting Éclair.

Fairy Tail pursues Carbuncle to Veronica, where the plan to reunite the stones proceeds. After Cream summons the Phoenix in expectation of receiving eternal life, Dist casts his employer aside and attempts to take the Phoenix's immortality for himself. Natsu intercepts him and defeats him during the ensuing battle.

Cream employs Dist and the Carbuncle guild to recover the second Phoenix Stone and provide security for Veronica's anniversary. Dist ultimately betrays his employer when the Phoenix appears, choosing the prospect of immortality for himself over loyalty to Cream.

Éclair is the target Dist is ordered to abduct because she possesses the other half of the Phoenix Stone. Carbuncle's attack on Fairy Tail succeeds in carrying her back to Veronica.

Natsu Dragneel becomes Dist's principal opponent after Fairy Tail follows Carbuncle to Veronica. Natsu prevents Dist from exploiting the summoned Phoenix and defeats him in their climactic fight.

Cannon, Chase and Coordinator operate under Dist as Carbuncle's principal combatants during the assault on Fairy Tail and the subsequent battles in Veronica.
