Chain'n'toad

Chain'n'toad is calm, cooperative, and considerably less eccentric than his frog costume suggests. Hero Association material describes his ordinary personality as comparatively plain despite his distinctive appearance.

His costume reflects a genuine fondness for children. Rather than wearing the frog mask to intimidate monsters, he chose an appearance that younger civilians would find approachable.

In combat, he remains composed enough to recognize openings and coordinate his weapon with the abilities of teammates.

Chain'n'toad is an expert practitioner of kusarigamajutsu. His kusarigama combines a sickle with a weighted chain, giving him both close-range cutting attacks and long-range restraint.

Ear Cutter recalls the sickle at high speed from an unexpected angle. Ankle Bind wraps the weighted end around an opponent's leg to restrict movement, while Continuous Attack Chain Weight pressures targets through repeated strikes.

Entrails Dropper is a rapid sickle slash intended for close combat. His weapon can also block debris and provide defensive utility.

Later material expands his repertoire with additional restraint and area-clearing techniques, demonstrating greater mastery of the kusarigama than his relatively low A-Class rank initially suggests.

Chain'n'toad joins several heroes confronting Hundred-Eyes Octopus during the large-scale monster attacks. His kusarigama gives the group a ranged option against the enormous creature.

He is swallowed during the confrontation before stronger S-Class heroes intervene.

Chain'n'toad later becomes one of the eight heroes assembled by Death Gatling to capture Garou. The team is deliberately constructed so that each member covers weaknesses in the others' fighting styles.

Garou eventually defeats the coordinated group despite their careful planning, using his martial arts and rapid adaptation to break through their formation.

Death Gatling recruits Chain'n'toad into the coordinated eight-hero operation against Garou.

Garou becomes Chain'n'toad's most important individual opponent during the Hero Hunt.

Stinger, Smile Man, Wild Horn, Glasses, Shooter, and Gun Gun fight alongside Chain'n'toad in Death Gatling's team.

Hundred-Eyes Octopus is one of the major monsters Chain'n'toad confronts during the simultaneous city attacks.

Butterfly DX later becomes one of Chain'n'toad's recurring hero partners.
