Ban

Ban is calculating, condescending and confident in the twins’ superiority over ordinary humans. He studies an opponent before committing to battle and prefers to attack through his Doll while remaining concealed.

His coordination with Hō is nearly instinctive. Their synchronized speech and shared control create the impression of a single tactical mind operating through two bodies.

Ban controls Günther, a Doll whose sealed crest resembles a bottle cap. Together with Hō’s Guhl, it manipulates nearby water into mobile spheres, tendrils and large masses capable of restraining or drowning targets.

The merged water can enter a victim’s body and attack from within. Because the twins can command either Doll through resonance, they can continue fighting when one component is disrupted.

Their principal weakness is separation. Moving the twins more than a short distance apart destabilizes both Dolls; greater separation causes the water constructs to collapse completely.

Ban and Hō infiltrate Karakura Hospital to capture Uryū. Their water Dolls pursue Ichigo’s group through the building and initially resist ordinary physical attacks by reforming.

Ichigo’s allies determine that the twins must remain close together. Ganju uses fireworks to separate them and destroy the Doll crests. Without their Dolls, Ban and Hō rapidly age, disintegrate and die.

Hō is Ban’s twin brother and indispensable partner. Their Dolls, Günther and Guhl, function through the brothers’ shared resonance.

Jin Kariya sends them after Uryū Ishida. Ganju Shiba discovers and exploits their weakness, while Ichigo Kurosaki and Rukia Kuchiki help resist their water attacks.
