Personality
Personality
Akira is loud, direct and demanding, particularly when training Aika. She refuses to flatter her student simply because Aika is Himeya's heiress, making her one of the few employees willing to criticize her openly.
Her strictness is paired with considerable emotional intelligence. Akira understands that technical competence alone does not make a great Undine and repeatedly pushes younger trainees to think about hospitality, confidence and the experience they create for passengers.
Away from instruction, she is competitive and easily provoked by Alicia Florence's teasing. Their contrasting temperaments conceal a friendship dating back to their own training years.
Abilities & Powers
Abilities & Powers
Akira is one of the Three Water Fairies, placing her among Neo-Venezia's most accomplished Prima Undines. She combines expert rowing with exceptional knowledge of the city and strong conversational ability.
Her customer service is particularly celebrated. Akira can adapt conversation to different passengers, present Neo-Venezia's landmarks in engaging ways and maintain control of a tour while navigating crowded waterways.
She is also an experienced instructor. Rather than teaching through constant reassurance, Akira identifies weaknesses directly and designs lessons that force Aika to confront them.
Story Role
Story Role
Akira enters primarily through Aika's professional life, giving the Himeya trainee a mentor very different from Akari's gentle relationship with Alicia. Their training establishes that becoming a Prima requires more than mastering a gondola.
Flashbacks show Akira training alongside Alicia and Athena Glory when the three were younger Singles. Their eventual recognition as the Three Water Fairies parallels the friendship developing among Akari, Aika and Alice Carroll.
Akira eventually conducts Aika's Prima examination. Recognizing the warmth and grace Aika has developed alongside her determination, she promotes her and gives her the title Rozen Queen.
Relationships
Relationships
Aika Granzchesta is Akira's student at Himeya. Akira trains her more harshly than other employees treat her, precisely because she believes Aika has the ability to succeed. She ultimately promotes Aika to Prima and names her Rozen Queen.
Alicia Florence is Akira's longtime friend and friendly rival. Alicia's relaxed teasing frequently irritates Akira, but their relationship goes back to their Single years.
Athena Glory trained alongside Akira and Alicia. Together, the three eventually became known as Neo-Venezia's Three Water Fairies.
Akari Mizunashi and Alice Carroll regularly come under Akira's eye through their joint practice with Aika.
