Aika Granzchesta

Aika is competitive, emotional and direct. She wants to earn recognition through ability rather than receive special treatment as Himeya's heiress, which makes the excessive politeness of company employees particularly frustrating.

She openly idolizes Alicia Florence, finding excuses to visit Aria Company whenever possible. Her admiration initially has the intensity of a fan's crush, although her professional outlook matures as she develops under Akira Ferrari.

Aika also acts as the grounded counterweight to Akari's romanticism. Her habitual prohibition against "embarrassing remarks" rarely means she truly rejects Akari's sentiment; she is simply much more self-conscious about expressing similar feelings herself.

Aika is a capable Undine whose greatest strengths are built through persistence rather than the immediate prodigious ability Alice displays. She takes pride in her rowing and responds strongly to competition.

Her knowledge of Neo-Venezia and Himeya's traditions gives her a solid professional foundation. Under Akira's instruction, she develops customer-facing skills and learns that a Prima must create an experience rather than merely navigate a gondola.

Aika's willingness to practice with employees of rival companies is also important to her growth. Akari and Alice continually expose her to different approaches to the same profession.

Aika meets Akari during practice and quickly becomes her first close friend on Aqua. Their joint training becomes a regular part of the series, later expanding into a trio when Alice joins them.

Her professional storyline revolves around escaping the artificial protection surrounding her as Himeya's heir. Akira becomes particularly important because she refuses to flatter Aika and judges her by the same standards she would apply to any trainee.

Akira eventually conducts Aika's Prima examination and promotes her, giving her the title Rozen Queen. Aika subsequently takes responsibility for a new Himeya branch rather than simply remaining sheltered at the company's main office.

Akari Mizunashi is Aika's closest friend and regular practice partner. Their contrasting personalities produce frequent teasing without undermining their deep affection for one another.

Alice Carroll completes their practice trio. Aika initially treats the younger prodigy competitively but quickly comes to value her as a friend.

Akira Ferrari is Aika's mentor. Aika complains about her harsh training but recognizes that Akira's refusal to pamper her is essential to her development. Akira eventually promotes her to Prima and names her Rozen Queen.

Alicia Florence is the Prima Aika openly idolizes. Her admiration for Alicia is one of her favorite excuses for visiting Aria Company.

Al Pitt becomes an important friend and romantic interest. Aika's behavior around him reveals a much shyer side than she normally displays.
