Agon Kongou

Agon is arrogant, cruel and almost completely convinced that people can be divided into geniuses and worthless "trash." Because football comes naturally to him, he has little patience for athletes who require years of training to accomplish what he can reproduce instinctively.

He is notoriously unreliable about practice and team obligations. Shinryuuji tolerates behavior that would get an ordinary player removed because Agon's talent is so rare that even the coaching staff considers normal standards difficult to apply to him.

Hiruma is one of the few people capable of disturbing his composure. Their history gives Agon's encounters with Deimon a personal edge that goes beyond ordinary competitive arrogance.

Agon's defining ability is the God-Speed Impulse, a reaction time of approximately 0.11 seconds. He can recognize movement and initiate a response so quickly that opponents have almost no opportunity to exploit hesitation.

That reflex is paired with genuine physical ability: a 4.6-second 40-yard dash and 120 kg bench press. Because he can process and react almost instantly, he can apply those statistics across multiple positions rather than specializing narrowly.

Agon is therefore used as a utility player. He can run, receive, defend and exploit developing plays with very little preparation, making him exceptionally difficult to plan around.

Agon is established long before Deimon faces Shinryuuji as one of the players Hiruma has personal reason to defeat. His effortless genius provides a direct contrast to nearly every Devil Bat, whose progress depends on exhausting training.

Shinryuuji's confidence is magnified by the fact that it can dominate major opponents even without using Agon. Once he participates seriously, the Nagas gain a player capable of reacting to many of Deimon's techniques before they fully develop.

Deimon ultimately defeats Shinryuuji despite Agon's enormous natural advantage, forcing him to confront a team of players he had dismissed as inferior. He later joins Japan for the Youth World Cup, where his reflexes become an important weapon against opponents beyond the Japanese high-school level.

Unsui Kongo is Agon's older twin brother. Agon possesses the natural ability Unsui Kongo desperately works to approximate, creating a painful imbalance between them even though Unsui remains devoted to him.

Youichi Hiruma has a hostile history with Agon and is one of the few people capable of provoking a strong emotional reaction from him.

Ikkyu Hosakawa is one of the rare Shinryuuji teammates Agon recognizes as genuinely talented.

Ryokan Kurita is someone Agon dismisses despite Kurita's extraordinary strength, reflecting Agon's contempt for people he does not classify as natural geniuses.
