Devil Fruits are mysterious fruits that permanently grant a single supernatural ability to anyone who eats one while taking away the eater’s ability to swim. Each specimen has a distinctive spiral-patterned appearance, an unpleasant taste, and a power that normally cannot be shared with another living user.
Devil Fruit abilities range from bodily transformations and elemental control to animal forms, spatial manipulation, and effects on other people. They are divided into Paramecia, Zoan, and Logia classes, although artificial fruits and several unusual powers complicate that basic system.
