Yuuya Kazami

Kazami is serious, obedient, hardworking, and strongly committed to his responsibilities. He respects Furuya's authority and usually follows instructions even when his superior provides only limited information about the broader operation.

He is capable but can become visibly nervous or frustrated when events move beyond his control. Furuya's exceptionally high standards also mean Kazami is frequently placed under considerable pressure.

Despite his rigid professional demeanor, later appearances reveal a more ordinary side to him, particularly when he is away from immediate Public Security operations.

Kazami is a trained Public Security investigator experienced in surveillance, intelligence gathering, arrests, firearms, undercover operations, and secure communications.

He frequently coordinates personnel for Furuya, handles suspects, acquires information, and provides the manpower required for operations that Furuya cannot conduct alone.

Kazami is also capable of working under aliases when an investigation requires concealment, including the name Danroku Hida.

Kazami first appears during the pursuit of Curaçao, working as a Public Security officer under Furuya. He subsequently becomes a recurring part of the security-police cast.

His manga appearances establish him more firmly as Furuya's subordinate and provide a direct connection between Furuya's covert activities and the institutional resources of Public Security.

Kazami also appears in later film cases involving Public Security, including One-eyed Flashback, where his presence alerts Conan that apparently ordinary police activity may conceal a deeper security investigation.

Rei Furuya is Kazami's superior and the officer whose orders he most frequently carries out. Kazami respects Rei Furuya greatly despite sometimes struggling to keep pace with his demanding methods.

Conan Edogawa repeatedly encounters Kazami during investigations involving Public Security and recognizes that Kazami's involvement can signal Furuya's presence behind the scenes.

Curaçao is pursued by Kazami and other Public Security officers during the incident surrounding her theft of classified intelligence.
