Willy Tybur

Willy is polished, courteous and exceptionally charismatic. He speaks comfortably with military officers, foreign dignitaries and political elites, and his international relationships give him influence extending far beyond Marley.

Despite his privileged life, he feels profound guilt over Eldia's history and his family's political passivity. He believes the Tyburs have allowed Marley to deteriorate by remaining detached while the country's military pursued continuous expansion.

Willy is also pragmatic enough to accept severe personal risks when he believes they will produce political results. He understands symbolism and public opinion particularly well, treating political theater as another form of warfare.

Willy possesses no demonstrated supernatural abilities. His principal power is political.

As head of the Tybur family, he has access to information deliberately hidden from both Marley and the wider world. The family's international prestige allows him to gather diplomats, journalists, military officers and dignitaries from numerous countries.

He is also a gifted public speaker. His ability to shape a complicated historical revelation into a persuasive narrative enables him to redirect an international audience's fear toward a common threat.

Willy arrives in Liberio and begins working closely with Theo Magath. Their conversations reveal that Marley has become dangerously dependent on Titan warfare and that its military leadership requires reform.

Willy reveals that the Tybur family, rather than Marley's government, has quietly possessed ultimate political authority for generations. He also explains that the celebrated story of the Marleyan hero Helos defeating King Fritz was largely fabricated: Karl Fritz cooperated with the Tyburs to dismantle the Eldian Empire.

During the Liberio festival, Willy presents this hidden history to an international audience and identifies Eren Yeager as the new danger possessing the Founding Titan.

Knowing an attack is likely, Willy deliberately places himself and senior Marleyan officers in danger so that any assault will produce international sympathy. Immediately after he declares war on Paradis, Eren transforms beneath the stage and kills him.

Lara Tybur is Willy's younger sister and the hidden inheritor of the War Hammer Titan.

Theo Magath becomes Willy's principal military collaborator. Willy trusts him to help restructure Marley after the anticipated attack on Liberio.

Kiyomi Azumabito is one of the foreign dignitaries personally acquainted with Willy.

Karl Fritz worked with Willy's ancestors during the Great Titan War, creating the political arrangement inherited by the Tybur family.

Eren Yeager becomes the central threat in Willy's declaration and kills Willy at the Liberio festival.
