Valdo Gollini

Valdo is theatrical, domineering, narcissistic, and obsessed with power. He admires All Might, but his understanding of the hero is fundamentally superficial. To Valdo, All Might mattered because he was overwhelmingly strong and commanded the admiration of society; compassion, responsibility, and self-sacrifice barely factor into his interpretation.

This misunderstanding becomes the foundation of the Dark Might persona. Valdo copies All Might's physical appearance, mannerisms, presentation, and rhetoric while using them to legitimize criminal domination. He wants others to acknowledge him as a new symbol rather than earning their trust through heroic action.

Behind the grandiose performance is a ruthless mafia leader accustomed to controlling people through fear. He treats subordinates as expendable when they cease to be useful and has little hesitation about destroying people or communities in pursuit of his self-appointed destiny.

Alchemy is an Emitter-type Quirk that allows Valdo to transmute nonliving matter he touches. Its versatility is extraordinary: he can transform materials into weapons, structures, furniture, vehicles, and complex functional objects, and can continually alter creations after producing them.

Valdo also uses Alchemy on his own outward physical form, transforming his lean natural appearance into the enormous blond body associated with Dark Might. He commonly uses gold coins as convenient catalysts, scattering them before converting surrounding matter into whatever structures he requires.

Anna Scervino's Overmodification massively amplifies Alchemy, expanding both its scale and complexity. Valdo becomes capable of creating vast artificial environments and transforming enormous quantities of surrounding matter, while his own body eventually undergoes increasingly extreme changes as the amplification continues.

Valdo rises to leadership of the Gollini Family in Europe and develops an obsessive fascination with All Might. Rather than adopting the hero's values, he decides that replacing the Symbol of Peace means possessing overwhelming power and forcing society to recognize him.

His organization targets Anna Scervino because her Overmodification Quirk can amplify compatible Quirk Factors. The Gollinis bring Anna to Japan, where Valdo uses her ability to push Alchemy far beyond its normal limits and creates a gigantic mobile fortress from the surrounding environment.

Adopting the name Dark Might, he publicly declares himself All Might's successor. Izuku Midoriya, Katsuki Bakugo, Shoto Todoroki, and Giulio Gandini become the principal opponents to his campaign.

All Might himself rejects Valdo's interpretation of him, while Izuku and the others demonstrate the distinction between possessing strength and using it heroically. Valdo's increasingly unstable empowered form is ultimately overcome through the combined efforts of Deku, Bakugo, Todoroki, Giulio, and Anna.

All Might is the object of Valdo's obsessive admiration. Valdo imitates his appearance and public persona and interprets the former Number One Hero primarily as the strongest person of his era. All Might, however, rejects Dark Might's claim to represent his legacy because Valdo has copied the image without understanding the ideals behind it.

Anna Scervino is essential to Valdo's plan because Overmodification can dramatically enhance Alchemy. He treats her primarily as a resource, exploiting her power to transform himself and his surroundings on an enormous scale.

Giulio Gandini relentlessly pursues Valdo after the Gollini Family attacks the Scervino household and abducts Anna. Giulio's Neutralization Quirk also represents a direct threat to the enhanced Quirk Factor on which Valdo's greatest power depends.

Izuku Midoriya becomes one of Valdo's principal opponents in Japan. As All Might's student and ideological successor, Izuku represents the part of All Might's legacy that Valdo fails to comprehend.

Katsuki Bakugo and Shoto Todoroki fight alongside Izuku against Dark Might, forcing Valdo to contend with several of U.A.'s strongest students simultaneously.

Deborah Gollini, Kamile Gollini, Ugo Gollini, Paulo Gollini, Simon Gollini, and Bruno Gollini are members of Valdo's criminal family and serve under him during the Gollini operation. His authority over them reflects the rigid, fear-based hierarchy through which he controls the organization.
