Turquoise

Turquoise is protective, responsible, and distinctly maternal toward the younger women around her. She takes her responsibility toward Ruri seriously and is reluctant to allow strangers close to the priestess without good reason.

Her concern extends to Kohaku, whom she is willing to lecture despite Kohaku's intimidating strength. Turquoise consequently feels less like a ceremonial attendant than an older household figure accustomed to worrying about both sisters.

She also understands how precarious village life can be. Her family was lost during a famine, making food security more than an abstract concern for her. The introduction of wheat cultivation and increasingly reliable food production under the Kingdom of Science therefore represents a particularly meaningful change in her everyday life.

Turquoise is not established as one of Ishigami Village's major fighters or scientists. Her strengths lie primarily in practical village work, guarding access to the priestess, and supporting communal labor.

She is capable of participating in the demanding physical work required by the Kingdom of Science. Like many villagers, she contributes when Senku's projects require large numbers of people rather than specialized expertise.

Her position beside Ruri also indicates trust and reliability. Together with Jasper, she helps regulate who can approach the priestess and assists with the ceremonial side of village life.

Turquoise first appears among the residents of Ishigami Village while Senku Ishigami is still an outsider trying to establish himself within the community.

She remains close to Ruri during the effort to cure the priestess's illness and watches as Senku's group introduces technologies completely unfamiliar to the village.

Turquoise also participates in the gradual industrialization of Ishigami Village. She is among the residents exposed to inventions such as cotton candy, improved food production, and other products that demonstrate the practical advantages of science. Volume material specifically places Turquoise with Kinro and Jasper trying cotton candy.

As the village becomes the Kingdom of Science's original base, Turquoise remains part of the civilian community supporting its projects rather than joining the expeditionary leadership.

Ruri is the priestess Turquoise helps guard and care for. Her protective attitude toward Ruri is one of her clearest established responsibilities.

Jasper serves alongside Turquoise as another attendant and guard associated with the priestess.

Kohaku is Ruri's younger sister and another person Turquoise treats with protective, almost maternal familiarity.

Senku Ishigami's arrival ultimately improves the security and living conditions of Turquoise's village, particularly through more reliable food production.
