Toujurou Rengoku

Toujurou is enthusiastic, optimistic, energetic, and intensely dedicated to physical training. He approaches ordinary conversation with the same emphatic positivity associated with the Rengoku family.

His principal passion is kendo. He can become so absorbed in training that he loses awareness of time and his surroundings; on the morning shown in the epilogue, he explains that he began training at four o'clock and failed to notice anything until his father physically got his attention.

Toujurou is also encouraging toward Sumihiko Kamado. Recognizing his friend's extraordinary athletic ability, he repeatedly argues that Sumihiko should join a sports club.

Toujurou has no demonstrated supernatural abilities or Breathing Style. He lives in an era without the Demon Slayer Corps and is portrayed as an ordinary human student.

He is nevertheless highly athletic and practices kendo extensively. His physical coordination allows him to keep pace with Sumihiko's frantic run to school and perform an acrobatic vault over the closing school gate.

His resemblance to earlier Rengoku swordsmen and interest in kendo suggest continuity in the family's martial tradition, but the manga does not establish that he knows Flame Breathing.

Toujurou appears near the end of Chapter 205 during Sumihiko's race to school. He catches up with his friend despite having also fallen behind schedule because he became absorbed in early-morning training.

The two continue toward school together while police pursue Sumihiko over his dangerous shortcut through the neighborhood. Toujurou remains cheerful throughout the incident and encourages his friend to make better use of his athletic talent.

When the school gate begins closing, both boys somersault over it and arrive in time. Their ordinary school-day adventure provides a peaceful modern parallel to the intense physical feats performed by their ancestors.

Sumihiko Kamado is Toujurou's friend and schoolmate. Toujurou admires Sumihiko's athleticism and tries to persuade him to participate in organized sports.

Senjuro Rengoku is Toujurou's ancestor, establishing that the Rengoku family continued through Senjuro's line.

Kyojuro Rengoku is a member of Toujurou's ancestral family line through Senjuro's elder brother. Toujurou strongly resembles Kyojuro in appearance and temperament, although the manga does not explicitly identify him as Kyojuro's reincarnation.

Shinjuro Rengoku and Ruka Rengoku are members of the earlier Rengoku family from which Toujurou descends.
