Personality
Personality
Toby is confident in the modifications Stylish has given him and willingly confronts elite assassins. His characterization centers on his role as one of the doctor's strongest experimental soldiers rather than on an independent personal agenda.
He fights aggressively because his mechanical body has removed his ability to feel pain. That trait allows him to ignore injuries that would stop an ordinary person, but it also creates a weakness: pain no longer warns him when an attack has left an opening or inflicted serious structural damage.
Toby's willingness to undergo extreme modification reflects the broader nature of Team Stylish, whose members exchange conventional human limitations for specialized abilities created through experimentation.
Abilities & Powers
Abilities & Powers
Toby's body is extensively mechanized. Built-in weapons include swords and firearms concealed in his limbs, along with weaponry installed in his mouth, allowing attacks to come from unexpected directions.
His artificial body cannot feel pain and is resistant to attacks dependent on ordinary human physiology. Most importantly, Murasame's poison does not function normally against his mechanical components, preventing Akame from relying on her usual one-cut assassination method.
The drawback is reduced defensive awareness. Because Toby receives no pain response, he can fail to recognize dangerous damage or openings quickly enough to protect himself.
Story Role
Story Role
Toby accompanies Team Stylish during its surprise assault on Night Raid's hidden headquarters. Stylish considers him one of his strongest pieces and sends him into direct combat against Akame.
The battle demonstrates the limitations of Murasame against a largely artificial opponent. Toby continues attacking after sustaining damage and reveals concealed weapons as Akame dismantles portions of his mechanical body.
Lubbock eventually joins the confrontation, and Toby is overwhelmed by the combined efforts of the two Night Raid assassins. He is killed during Team Stylish's failed assault, depriving Stylish of one of his strongest modified fighters.
