Tepasté

Tepasté is playful, outgoing and mischievous. She introduces herself freely even while expecting never to see the other person again and uses teasing, flirtation and physical provocation with little hesitation.

Behind that casual demeanor is a sharp observer. She recognizes notable delvers, notices small details and accumulates information about people and organizations operating around the Abyss.

Tepasté is also adaptable under pressure. Her experiences have exposed her to dangerous factions since childhood, and she has learned to conceal intentions while reading the motives of people around her.

Tepasté carries six concealed throwing knives in a harness beneath her clothing and demonstrates skill in close-quarters confrontation. She also uses a metal claw during an altercation with Yelme.

Her physical appearance bears an "Abyssal twist," a bodily effect associated with extensive exposure to the Curse. The series has not yet established the complete circumstances behind it.

Her greatest demonstrated strength is information gathering. Tepasté knows a surprising amount about current delvers and the secretive groups operating beyond Orth's conventional cave-raiding structure.

Tepasté and Cravagli prepare to evade official restrictions and begin an illegal Last Dive through an abandoned factory route. Their actions initially appear to be those of unusually secretive cave raiders.

Later material reveals that their descent is connected to the mysterious Priestess and the Nests. Tepasté had been forced into the role of a Priestess candidate as a child before Pieruzo intervened during an attack and Cravagli later found her.

After becoming separated from Cravagli in the Abyss, Tepasté encounters Hail Hex and becomes entangled with Srajo's expedition. She continues gathering information connected to the Priestess while traveling in the Sixth Layer.

Cravagli is Tepasté's closest established companion. She trusts and respects him deeply, travels with him and undertakes an illegal Last Dive at his side. Their dialogue implies that their relationship is also sexual.

Pieruzo protects Tepasté from an Orb Piercer when she is being transported as a Priestess candidate and instructs her to shelter inside a Forgetter.

The Priestess has secretly been in contact with Tepasté and Cravagli. Tepasté later gathers information on the Priestess's behalf.

Nishagora initially confronts Tepasté in the Sixth Layer before Tepasté becomes associated with Hail Hex. Nishagora subsequently shows some respect for her judgment.

Yelme encounters Tepasté at the Tumble Tavern and receives an aggressive demonstration of her unusual approach to introductions.
