Cravagli is calm, perceptive and courteous. He assesses dangerous situations quickly without becoming visibly rattled and places surprising importance on proper greetings and communication.

Rather than relying on good fortune, he ritualizes it. Before important undertakings, he treats praying for success almost like a personal game. His fondness for Hamoroge Bowls is another recurring personal detail, and he remains composed enough to enjoy them even while preparing for a clandestine expedition.

Cravagli also possesses an extensive network of information. He recognizes notable delvers and organizations and knows about subjects hidden from ordinary cave raiders, including the mysterious Priestess and the "Nests."

Cravagli's Black Whistle rank reflects extensive experience in the Abyss, but his reputation goes further: he is regarded as a genius capable of delving alone. His survival skills, judgment and physical conditioning allow him to operate in environments where even organized expeditions face extreme danger.

He has substantial knowledge of active delvers and obscure information concerning the Abyss. This awareness makes him particularly effective at assessing unfamiliar people and identifying potential threats.

Even after suffering catastrophic injuries in the Sixth Layer, Cravagli remains physically capable of descending to a safer location before finally collapsing, demonstrating exceptional endurance.

Cravagli's first published appearance places him in the deeper Abyss, while supplementary chapters establish his activities in Orth shortly before his Last Dive. He and Tepasté visit the Tumble Tavern, observe the unusual concentration of powerful delvers there and prepare to enter the Abyss secretly through an abandoned factory route.

Their Last Dive is connected to a much larger mystery involving the Priestess, the Nests and the Song of Hariyomari. Cravagli and Tepasté had previously made contact with the Priestess and intended to reconnect with her.

Cravagli becomes separated from Tepasté during their descent and is found mortally wounded in the Sixth Layer. Before dying, he leaves information that contributes to the developing mystery surrounding the deeper Abyss.

Tepasté is Cravagli's closest known companion. They trust one another deeply, sometimes delve together and undertake an illegal Last Dive as partners. Their dialogue also implies a sexual relationship.

Yelme meets Cravagli and Tepasté at the Tumble Tavern, where Cravagli responds to his drunken behavior with patience and an insistence on proper communication.

Pieruzo was acquainted with Cravagli, who knew about his search connected to the Priestess.

The Priestess was secretly in contact with Cravagli and Tepasté, who planned to meet her again after beginning their Last Dive.
