Takizawa

Takizawa is serious, cautious and conscious of the social consequences of revealing the Parasites' existence. He regards them as a genuine threat but also recognizes that premature disclosure could create widespread panic and suspicion.

He is willing to personally visit people affected by suspected Parasite attacks to gather information while also expressing respect for what they have endured.

Takizawa's approach is administrative rather than combative. He develops plans and connects specialists but leaves direct operations to personnel trained for field work.

Takizawa is an ordinary human without supernatural abilities.

His principal strengths are authority, organization and access to police and government resources. He coordinates investigators and scientific specialists as the authorities develop a clearer understanding of Parasite physiology.

He has no natural means of identifying Parasites and therefore depends on eyewitness testimony, biological testing and specialists capable of evaluating potential suspects.

Takizawa first appears at the Izumi household, where Kazuyuki Izumi describes the creature involved in his family's tragedy. Police sketch artist Haruki Tachikawa accompanies the investigation.

After Hideo Shimada is exposed, Takizawa contacts Yui so the recovered Parasite can be examined scientifically.

As the investigation advances, Takizawa helps bring together Hirama and Yamagishi for the planned assault on the organized Parasites operating from Fukuyama City Hall.

Kazuyuki Izumi provides Takizawa with important eyewitness information about the Parasites.

Haruki Tachikawa assists the investigation as a police sketch artist.

Yui is the scientist Takizawa contacts to examine Parasite biology.

Hirama becomes one of the investigators working within the organized response coordinated by Takizawa.
