Sou Inuoka

Inuoka is cheerful, sociable and highly enthusiastic about volleyball. He reacts to strong opponents with excitement rather than resentment, immediately taking an interest in Shouyou Hinata after experiencing his speed firsthand. Their similar energy makes friendship come naturally despite the rivalry between their schools.

He is straightforward and sometimes less tactically sophisticated than teammates such as Kenma Kozume, but he compensates with strong instincts and a willingness to listen. He is also notably unselfish about his place in Nekoma's lineup.

When Lev Haiba develops as a middle blocker, Inuoka does not turn the competition for playing time into a personal grudge. Instead, he works on broadening his own skills and becoming useful in another position.

Inuoka's standout athletic trait is speed. Combined with his height and jumping ability, it allows him to close rapidly on attackers and makes him unusually effective against Hinata's quick movements.

As a middle blocker, Inuoka uses that mobility to pursue attacks across the net rather than depending solely on height. During Nekoma's early practice matches with Karasuno, his ability to keep up with Hinata demonstrates that the freak quick is not inherently unstoppable.

Nekoma later develops Inuoka as an opposite hitter, requiring him to improve his receiving and floor defense. The change fits Nekoma's philosophy of keeping the ball connected and gives the team another tall blocker on the right side.

Inuoka becomes prominent during Karasuno and Nekoma's early practice matches. Coach Yasufumi Nekomata uses his speed against Hinata, and Inuoka proves capable of following an attacker whom most blockers struggle even to reach.

The encounter also establishes one of the friendlier relationships across the Karasuno-Nekoma rivalry. Inuoka and Hinata are fascinated by one another's athleticism and continue interacting warmly whenever their schools meet.

As Nekoma develops, Inuoka's transition toward opposite hitter demonstrates the team's willingness to reshape players around its defensive system rather than treating the starting lineup as fixed. After high school, Inuoka works as a childcare professional rather than pursuing volleyball as his primary career.

Shouyou Hinata becomes Inuoka's friend and friendly rival after their first match, with both taking immediate interest in the other's speed.

Lev Haiba is Inuoka's younger teammate and fellow middle blocker. Inuoka responds positively to Lev's development despite the competition for playing time.

Kenma Kozume is one of Nekoma's setters and helps coordinate the defensive and offensive system in which Inuoka plays.

Tetsurou Kuroo is Inuoka's captain and senior middle blocker.

Yasufumi Nekomata is Inuoka's coach and helps direct his development into a more versatile player.
