Soketsu

Soketsu is cocky and enjoys verbally provoking his opponents. He approaches combat with the confidence of someone who spent his youth testing himself against fighters of Raizen's caliber.

His arrogance does not prevent him from respecting determination. When an opponent continues fighting despite an obvious disadvantage, Soketsu recognizes the same stubbornness that once drove him to challenge Raizen even when victory seemed impossible.

He also displays sportsmanship once a fight is decided, distinguishing competitive bravado from genuine cruelty.

Soketsu is an Upper S-Class demon, placing him among the strongest beings introduced in the series. His overall demonic energy, speed and physical strength vastly exceed the levels associated with most earlier tournament fighters.

He can levitate and fight effectively in the air. His exact catalogue of named techniques is not extensively developed, but his performance establishes exceptional martial skill and energy control.

His long history of sparring with Raizen also indicates centuries of combat experience against extraordinarily powerful demons.

Soketsu arrives with Raizen's old companions after they learn what has happened to their former friend. Their appearance dramatically changes assumptions about Demon World's balance of power because several of these supposedly obscure wanderers rival the established rulers.

He enters the Demon World Tournament and fights Jin. Soketsu defeats Jin after a hard-fought exchange but respects his refusal to surrender, even carrying him away after Jin loses consciousness while still standing.

Soketsu is later shown fighting Shu, another member of Raizen's old circle, who remarks that roughly a thousand years have passed since they last fought one another.

Raizen was Soketsu's old friend, rival and sparring partner. Soketsu remembers repeatedly challenging him despite knowing how difficult victory would be.

Jin faces Soketsu in the Demon World Tournament and earns his respect through persistence.

Shu is another of Raizen's old companions and later fights Soketsu during the tournament.

Enki, Koko, Natsume, Kujo and the other members of Raizen's old circle share Soketsu's connection to the former king.

Yusuke Urameshi organizes the Demon World Tournament in which Soketsu participates.
