Snarl

Snarl is cruel, selfish, and highly confident in his own magic. Hunger is enough motivation for him and his companions to kidnap Happy with the intention of cooking him rather than seeking food conventionally.

His confidence becomes a liability when he assumes that trapping Natsu inside Sand Bomb has already decided their fight and lowers his guard.

Canon provides little characterization beyond this short anime-only encounter.

Snarl uses Sand Magic, creating and manipulating sand for both restraint and direct attack.

Sand Bomb begins with Snarl striking the ground and producing a Magic Seal. A wave of sand then surges toward the opponent and compresses around them into a large sphere.

Another demonstrated attack causes the ground beneath a target to erupt and engulf them in sand. The technique is unnamed but shows that Snarl can attack through existing terrain rather than needing to project sand directly from his body.

Snarl and his companions encounter Team Natsu while traveling and decide to kidnap Happy because they are hungry.

Snarl uses Sand Magic to create the diversion that lets the Eisenwald group capture the Exceed. They prepare to cook him before Natsu and Gray intervene.

Natsu fights Snarl directly and defeats him despite initially being trapped by Sand Bomb.

The Fairy Tail mages tie the group to a tree afterward. Snarl and his companions attempt to tell them something concerning Lullaby, but a mysterious shadow suddenly takes the defeated Eisenwald members away.

They are later shown hanging inside Eisenwald's headquarters.

Natsu Dragneel becomes Snarl's principal opponent and defeats him after escaping Sand Bomb.

Gray Fullbuster joins Natsu in defeating Snarl's Eisenwald team.

Happy is kidnapped by Snarl and his companions when they decide to use him as food.

Erigor leads Eisenwald, the Dark Guild to which Snarl belongs.
