Personality
Personality
Togano is the quietest and most easygoing of the Ha-Ha Brothers. Juumonji and Kuroki are more likely to initiate arguments or confrontations, while Togano often follows their lead unless something particularly interests him.
Manga is his main hobby. He reads frequently, has a strong preference for Weekly Shonen Jump-style material and continues thinking about comics even during Deimon's American training. He is also an accomplished amateur artist, drawing exaggerated muscular characters reminiscent of the action manga he enjoys.
His initial indifference toward football gradually fades. Like the other Ha-Ha Brothers, Togano discovers that the work he puts into the team produces something more satisfying than maintaining a delinquent reputation.
Abilities & Powers
Abilities & Powers
Togano develops from an inexperienced recruit into a regular offensive lineman. His 85 kg bench press and 5.5-second 40-yard dash place him close to the other Ha-Ha Brothers physically, allowing the trio to train and operate as a coordinated unit.
He participates in Deimon's line techniques and blocking formations, where coordination is often more important than individual power. The Ha-Ha Brothers compensate for their relative lack of size by combining their movement and learning to work alongside Ryokan Kurita.
Togano's drawing ability is his most notable non-football skill. He can produce detailed manga-style artwork and is generally portrayed as the most artistically capable of the three delinquents.
Story Role
Story Role
Togano first appears as one of the delinquents who bully Sena before Hiruma turns the situation against them. The trio's involvement with the Devil Bats begins unwillingly, but the Hell Tower recruitment test and subsequent training pull them deeper into the team.
The Death March becomes particularly important to their development. Togano temporarily gives up easy access to his beloved manga while enduring the American training program, demonstrating that football has become important enough for him to sacrifice his usual comforts.
As Deimon's competition becomes stronger, Togano remains part of the line that must repeatedly confront larger and more experienced opponents.
Relationships
Relationships
Kazuki Juumonji and Koji Kuroki are Togano's closest companions. The three function socially and athletically as the Ha-Ha Brothers, although Kazuki Juumonji generally assumes the leadership role.
Ryokan Kurita becomes the experienced centerpiece around whom Togano and the other young Deimon linemen develop.
Youichi Hiruma is responsible for dragging Togano and his friends into Deimon's football activities and repeatedly pushes them far beyond the effort they originally intended to give.
