Shitai Choujin

Shitai Choujin displays little conventional human personality. Its behavior after awakening is driven primarily by violent instinct and the urge to consume nearby bodies.

Unlike Palma's ordinary reanimated corpses, it cannot be treated as a simple obedient worker. Its transformation through XEMBER produces a more autonomous and dangerous creature.

Any personality belonging to the original corpse before experimentation has not been established.

Shitai Choujin is created when a reanimated corpse is exposed to refined XEMBER, causing its Choujin super-cell levels to increase abnormally.

It can incorporate or consume other corpses, producing a large distorted mass of bodies with powerful tendrils and enough strength to inflict catastrophic injuries.

Despite originating from a corpse, it possesses Raise as a Choujin. Its exact ability is identified with its zombie nature, although the complete mechanics remain unexplained.

Palma creates Shitai Choujin while investigating whether XEMBER can affect corpses. The experiment initially appears promising when she confirms unusually high super-cell levels in the subject.

The reanimated subject subsequently awakens, absorbs other bodies and attacks Palma in her laboratory. It tears apart and begins consuming her faster than she can safely recover through Raise.

Facing death, Palma injects herself with refined XEMBER. Her resulting Chaos transformation destroys Shitai Choujin and triggers the Choujin call that alerts Tokio and the others to the disaster.

Palma Shishinegura creates Shitai Choujin through her research into corpse reanimation and XEMBER. The experiment turns on Palma and nearly consumes her, directly causing the desperate injection that drives her into Chaos.

Noh Mask is responsible for the wider XEMBER research connected to the experiment and hopes Palma's work will produce useful results.

Tokio Kurohara senses the Choujin call produced by the crisis surrounding Palma and the experimental corpse.
