He is accustomed to dealing with professional athletes and media personnel and behaves comfortably within the publicity environment surrounding J.League soccer.

Yamamori has no supernatural or combat abilities. His expertise lies in television sports production and the management of sports-related news coverage.

As a senior Nichiuri TV employee, he understands broadcasting, audience ratings, sports media, and the organization surrounding televised soccer events.

Yamamori attends the soccer event that precedes the bombing campaign in The Eleventh Striker. Because he hears information later connected to the bomber's messages and has professional reasons to benefit from dramatic sports coverage, investigators examine his activities.

He consequently becomes one of several people considered during the investigation alongside Kaoru Kouda, Kazumasa Nakaoka, Ryousuke Sakagi, and Keiichiro Motoura.

The investigation eventually clears Yamamori when Conan determines that the bomber is someone else connected much more personally to Tomofumi Motoura and the earlier J.League event.
