Sēramu is compassionate and protective of both Rōran and her daughter. Unlike Sāra at the beginning of the film, she grows suspicious of Anrokuzan and his expanding control over the city's systems.

Sēramu rules Rōran after Mukade arrives in the past and adopts the identity of Anrokuzan.
She eventually discovers that Anrokuzan is exploiting the Ryūmyaku and attempts to stop him. Her death leaves Sāra as queen and allows Anrokuzan to consolidate his influence over the younger ruler.
