Samurai Sword

Samurai Sword is proud, vindictive, hypocritical, and deeply attached to an idealized memory of his grandfather. He insists that his grandfather was a good man despite knowing that his wealth came from criminal activity and drug trafficking.

He regards Denji as morally inhuman for killing members of the yakuza, while refusing to acknowledge that those same men had been transformed into zombies and were actively trying to kill him. This selective morality allows Samurai Sword to frame revenge as justice.

He is also stubborn and competitive. Even after suffering repeated defeats, his hatred of Denji remains strong enough to guide later decisions.

Samurai Sword is a human-Devil hybrid merged with the Katana Devil. Removing his left hand exposes a blade that activates his transformation, causing katana blades to extend from both arms and through his head.

His transformed body possesses immense strength, speed, durability, and regeneration. He survives gunshots, being swallowed by the Fox Devil, fatal damage from the Curse Devil, and being cut apart.

His signature quick-draw attack allows him to dash past an opponent at extreme speed and cut them before the damage becomes immediately apparent. He is also an experienced swordsman and competent handgun user.

Samurai Sword approaches Denji, Aki Hayakawa, Himeno, and Power at a restaurant before suddenly opening fire. His attack is one part of a larger operation aimed at Public Safety.

He fights Aki, survives the Curse Devil, and is revived by Sawatari. Denji later faces him directly aboard a train and ultimately defeats him using a chainsaw blade hidden in his leg.

Samurai Sword later reappears under Makima's control as one of the weapon hybrids sent against Pochita.

In the Academy Saga, he returns as a temporary Public Safety operative in Special Division 7. His hatred of Denji remains intact, and he joins Asa's group during the assault on the Tokyo Devil Detention Center partly because he sees another opportunity to confront Chainsaw Man.

Denji is Samurai Sword's primary enemy. He blames Denji for his grandfather's death and spends years pursuing revenge.

Akane Sawatari helps create his hybrid body and acts as his principal partner during the attack on Public Safety.

Yakuza is Samurai Sword's grandfather. Samurai Sword remembers him affectionately and refuses to accept the cruelty of the criminal life he led.

Aki Hayakawa fights Samurai Sword and temporarily defeats him with the Curse Devil.

Makima later controls Samurai Sword and deploys him against Chainsaw Man.

Nail Fiend becomes his partner while working with Public Safety in the Academy Saga.
