Roto

Roto is cowardly, calculating and openly dishonorable. He has little interest in demonstrating superior martial ability when threatening someone Kurama loves can produce the same result with less personal risk.

His cruelty is deliberate rather than impulsive. Roto investigates Kurama's Human World identity before their match and arranges for an accomplice to remain near his mother, allowing him to threaten her remotely.

That strategy also reveals his central weakness: he badly underestimates Kurama's willingness to plan while appearing compliant.

Roto can produce a large curved blade from the back of his hand, giving him a natural close-range weapon. He possesses the enhanced physical abilities expected of a demon selected for the Dark Tournament.

His more important tactical asset is preparation. By learning Kurama's human identity as Shuichi Minamino and arranging surveillance of his mother, Roto creates leverage that conventional fighting cannot provide.

He is classified as a D-Class demon and is substantially weaker than the strongest fighters participating in later tournament rounds.

Roto is Team Rokuyukai's second fighter against Team Urameshi. He faces Kurama after Rinku's opening match with Kuwabara.

During the fight, Roto repeatedly addresses Kurama by his Human World name and reveals that an accomplice is watching Shiori Minamino. He threatens to have her killed if Kurama resists, apparently forcing Kurama to endure his attacks.

Kurama secretly plants the Death Seed in Roto while appearing to submit. Once the seed takes root, a plant erupts from Roto's body, ending the match before his threat against Shiori can be carried out.

Kurama is Roto's opponent in the first round of the Dark Tournament and the target of his blackmail.

Shiori Minamino is Kurama's human mother, whom Roto threatens through an accomplice to control Kurama.

Zeru, Rinku, Chu, Imajin and Gaou are Roto's fellow members of Team Rokuyukai.
