Ririka Umezawa

Ririka is serious, businesslike, and generally uninterested in unnecessary distractions. She approaches criminal assignments as professional work and expects others to maintain a similar level of focus.

Her mask also affects her disposition. Without it, she becomes noticeably more short-tempered and irritable.

She works efficiently with Ricardo despite the contrast between her restrained manner and his more eccentric personality. Their familiarity makes them a far more dangerous team than either appears in isolation.

Paper Trip lets Ririka cut paper into shapes and give those shapes the physical properties of what they represent. Paper knives and scissors become genuine cutting weapons, paper bombs explode, paper chains restrain targets, and paper planes can support her weight for aerial movement.

Paper Dog creates tracking constructs capable of following a target's scent, while paper birds can fly and transport small objects. Even unshaped pieces of paper can be controlled as swarms sharp enough to cut flesh.

PaperMoon: October Queen extends the ability beyond created objects. Ririka can transform things she touches into paper and later reverse the effect, allowing her to flatten and transport people or temporarily convert herself into paper to evade attacks.

Ririka is introduced as one of the more experienced Choujin operating outside Yamato Mori. After Nari's failure, she and Ricardo are assigned to deal with the resulting situation and pursue the people connected to the missing XEMBER.

Their intervention expands Tokio's understanding of how dangerous professional Choujin criminals can be. Ririka's ability is not overwhelming through raw force; its threat comes from preparation, flexibility and creative application.

She and Ricardo remain connected to the criminal side of Yamato's Choujin world beyond their first confrontation, their mercenary status allowing them to shift between employers and objectives according to circumstance.

Ricardo Terror is Ririka's regular partner. Ririka and Ricardo Terror coordinate their very different abilities effectively and share a longstanding professional relationship.

Noh Mask hires Ririka and Ricardo for work connected to Tokio and the missing XEMBER.

Nari Tsumiji's failure creates the assignment that brings Ririka into the conflict.

Tokio Kurohara becomes one of the people Ririka is tasked with pursuing as part of Noh Mask's investigation.
