Rin

Rin is energetic, confident and much more practical than Yuugo. She has little difficulty correcting him when he becomes carried away and frequently acts as the more responsible half of their partnership.

She is nevertheless just as enthusiastic about Riding Duels. The two share an ambition to compete on a larger stage, and Rin treats their dream as something they should achieve together rather than as Yuugo's individual goal.

Her bluntness toward Yuugo coexists with genuine affection. Their arguments come from long familiarity, and she understands his personality well enough to challenge his mistakes without distancing herself from him.

Rin is an accomplished Riding Duelist who uses a Windwitch Deck. Her monsters are WIND Spellcasters designed around Synchro Summoning and effects that complement one another when multiple Windwitches are placed on the field.

Windwitch - Winter Bell is her principal Synchro Monster. Her Deck also includes Windwitch - Ice Bell, Windwitch - Snow Bell and Windwitch - Glass Bell.

Rin's style combines effect damage with Synchro Summoning, allowing her to pressure opponents while building toward stronger monsters. Her ability demonstrates that she and Yuugo developed as duelists together rather than Rin simply accompanying his ambitions.

Rin is initially established through Yuugo's memories of their childhood in the Synchro Dimension. They grow up together among the Commons and plan to enter the Friendship Cup once they can build a suitable D-Wheel.

Her disappearance becomes one of the main reasons Yuugo travels between dimensions. Yuri encounters Rin before the Friendship Cup and removes her from the life she and Yuugo had planned together.

Rin is taken to Academia and placed under the Doctor's control. When Yuugo finally finds her, the reunion he has spent so long pursuing becomes a duel because the parasite influencing Rin forces her to attack him.

Rin is later revealed to be one of four girls originating from Ray Akaba, alongside Yuzu, Serena and Ruri. Leo Akaba's plan requires recombining the four counterparts in order to restore Ray.

Yuugo is Rin's childhood friend and closest companion. The two grow up together in the Commons, dream of entering the Friendship Cup and work toward obtaining a D-Wheel. Yuugo's search for Rin becomes one of his defining motivations.

Yuzu Hiiragi, Serena and Ruri Kurosaki share an unexplained resemblance and connection with Rin. The four are eventually revealed as counterparts created from Ray Akaba when the Original Dimension was divided.

Ray Akaba has a hidden connection to Rin. Rin is one of the four fragments created from Ray Akaba's divided existence.

Leo Akaba requires Rin for the plan he pursues across the dimensions. His objective is to reunite Rin with the other three counterparts and restore Ray.
