Plue

Plue is friendly, affectionate, obedient, and generally cheerful. He communicates through small gestures and a distinctive sound rather than conventional speech, but Lucy and her friends usually understand what he is trying to convey.

He enjoys spending time outside the Celestial Spirit World and functions more like a pet and companion than a battle summon. His harmlessness makes him one of Lucy's most casual spirits to call forth when she wants company.

Plue has virtually no combat ability. The Fairy Tail version is explicitly characterized as a Nikora spirit kept largely as a pet rather than a fighter.

His key originally allows Lucy to summon him on a limited schedule, although the exact available days differ between the manga and anime. He is inexpensive compared with Gold Key spirits and places relatively little strain on Lucy's magic.

Plue does possess an unusually strong sense of smell, but the abilities associated with Rave Master's Plue—including sensing Rave Stones and destroying Dark Brings—do not belong to this incarnation.

Lucy purchases Plue's Silver Key shortly after arriving in Magnolia, making him one of the first Celestial Spirits she acquires during the series.

He appears repeatedly during quieter guild scenes, journeys, and comedic interludes. Because he requires little magical effort and presents no danger, Lucy can summon him simply for companionship rather than as part of a battle plan.

Plue also serves as one of several recurring visual links between Fairy Tail and creator Hiro Mashima's earlier work, Rave Master, while remaining a distinct incarnation within Fairy Tail's canon.

Lucy Heartfilia owns Plue's Silver Key, names him, and treats him affectionately as both a Celestial Spirit and pet.

Happy frequently interacts with Plue during Fairy Tail's comedic and everyday scenes.

Natsu Dragneel is another member of Lucy's close circle with whom Plue regularly travels.
