Ningyoutsukai

Ningyoutsukai is outwardly cheerful and friendly. She deliberately makes her creations cute because she believes an appealing appearance strengthens the relationship between a tool and its user, giving her machines a very different aesthetic from conventional weapons.

Her attitude toward children is more disturbing. Although she presents herself as someone who understands and entertains them, she accepts Haijima's exploitation of young pyrokinetics and views people in similarly controllable terms to her machines.

She can become considerably more menacing when angered. Her pleasant demeanor gives way to condescension and vindictiveness, particularly when someone damages her creations or interferes with her work.

Ningyoutsukai is a Third Generation pyrokinetic whose ability enables her to operate her Dominions through specialized control wires. The machines are powered by her fire and possess strength far beyond what their small bodies suggest.

Standard Dominions can strike with enough force to overturn heavy vehicles and can fire powerful flame attacks. She can control numerous units at once, allowing her to surround opponents or replace destroyed puppets with additional machines.

Her strongest machine is the Dominion of Punishment, a larger and more dangerous model equipped with claws capable of cutting concrete. Its construction also protects it against electrical interference better than her ordinary puppets.

Ningyoutsukai herself can produce fire from her feet to slow a fall. She also demonstrates substantial mechanical knowledge, understanding the construction and weaknesses of both her own machines and opposing equipment.

Ningyoutsukai works at Haijima's Skills Development Laboratory, where her Dominions help manage the children subjected to the corporation's research. She becomes an active combatant when Company 8 infiltrates the facility while investigating Nataku Son.

Her first major opponents are Maki Oze and Vulcan Joseph. The battle becomes a contest between her puppet technology, Maki's Second Generation flame control and Vulcan's engineering expertise.

The conflict expands when the White-Clad arrive. Haumea's electrical attacks destroy several Dominions, prompting Ningyoutsukai to redirect her anger toward the White-Clad despite their mutual hostility toward Company 8.

This three-sided struggle emphasizes Haijima's ambiguous position in the wider conflict. Ningyoutsukai is an antagonist to Company 8 during its investigation, yet she has no allegiance to the Evangelist and fights the White-Clad when they invade Haijima's facility.

Yuuichirou Kurono works alongside Ningyoutsukai at Haijima's Skills Development Laboratory. Both serve as formidable combat assets, though their methods and personalities differ considerably.

Nataku Son is one of the children housed within Haijima's research program and becomes the focus of the conflict involving Company 8 and the White-Clad.

Maki Oze fights Ningyoutsukai during Company 8's infiltration and uses her own flame-manipulation skills against the Dominions.

Vulcan Joseph opposes Ningyoutsukai alongside Maki Oze, turning their confrontation partly into a battle between engineers.

Haumea destroys Ningyoutsukai's machines with electrical attacks during the White-Clad intrusion, causing the Puppeteer to retaliate against her.
