Nile Dok

Nile is cautious, dutiful and initially conservative in his approach to military authority. As commander of the Military Police, his priorities naturally emphasize internal stability and obedience to established law.

He is not blindly loyal, however. Nile can distinguish his duties from his personal feelings and gradually becomes willing to question orders when they threaten innocent civilians.

His family is particularly important to him. The decision that separated him from Erwin in their youth was rooted in his love for Marie Dok, whom both men had known.

Nile's greatest abilities are administrative authority, military command and political judgment.

As commander of the Military Police Brigade, he controls soldiers responsible for internal security, criminal enforcement and protection of the monarchy.

He does not receive the same emphasis as elite ODM fighters in direct Titan combat, but his position requires extensive military experience and leadership ability.

Nile first appears during Eren's military tribunal, representing the Military Police position that Eren should be placed under their authority rather than entrusted to the Survey Corps.

He later receives orders connected with Erwin's arrest during the Royal Government conflict.

When ordered to prevent civilians from evacuating despite the supposed breach of Wall Rose, Nile ultimately refuses to sacrifice ordinary families merely to preserve the nobles' authority. His decision contributes to the military coup.

Years later, Nile remains a senior officer as Paradis faces conflict with Marley and internal division over Eren.

Nile unknowingly drinks wine contaminated with Zeke's spinal fluid. When Zeke screams during Marley's attack on Shiganshina, Nile is transformed into a Pure Titan.

In Titan form he approaches Kaya near the Blouse family before Gabi shoots him through the nape.

Erwin Smith is Nile's old friend. The two once considered joining the Survey Corps together before Nile chose a different life.

Marie Dok is Nile's wife. His love for her played a major role in his decision to abandon his youthful plans of joining the Survey Corps.

Darius Zackly is one of Nile's superiors within the military hierarchy.

Eren Yeager is initially someone Nile believes should be placed under Military Police control.

Zeke Yeager causes Nile's transformation through spinal-fluid-tainted wine and his scream.

Gabi Braun kills Nile after he becomes a Pure Titan.
