Personality
Personality
Nana is confident, outspoken and image-conscious, fitting her career as a successful young model. She readily comments on the people and surroundings at Aquacrystal and initially appears more concerned with enjoying the exclusive location than with the increasingly disturbing circumstances around the guests.
She can also be reckless and self-centered. Three months before the Aquacrystal incident, Nana drove dangerously and struck a motorcyclist. Rather than remain at the scene, she panicked and fled, leaving the injured rider behind.
When the apparent pattern of attacks becomes impossible to ignore, Nana grows frightened. Her earlier hit-and-run weighs on her because she suspects that the person targeting the guests may somehow know what she did.
Abilities & Powers
Abilities & Powers
Nana is an ordinary human with no established fighting, investigative or supernatural abilities. Her professional expertise lies in modeling and public presentation.
She is physically capable of ordinary activities but is not trained for the dangerous circumstances at Aquacrystal. Once the guests realize they may be trapped with a killer, Nana depends on the investigators and other adults around her rather than attempting to solve the case herself.
Story Role
Story Role
Nana receives an invitation to Aquacrystal, the new marine entertainment complex owned by Katsuyoshi Asahi. She arrives alongside Eimei Shishido, Peter Ford and Minoru Nishina, each apparently summoned by the absent owner.
Her name places her at number seven in the sequence of targets modeled on a deck of playing cards. As the people inside Aquacrystal realize the facility has been sealed, Nana becomes increasingly alarmed.
Nana admits that she committed a hit-and-run three months earlier, seriously injuring a motorcyclist and fleeing before police or emergency services arrived. The injured rider was Kohei Sawaki, whose resulting condition eventually damaged his sense of taste and threatened his career as a sommelier.
During a blackout inside Aquacrystal, Sawaki attacks Nana and fatally stabs her. Her death becomes one of the crucial clues proving that the attacks are not simply the work of the recently released Jo Murakami but part of Sawaki's own carefully constructed revenge scheme.
Relationships
Relationships
Kohei Sawaki has a hidden connection to Nana before the Aquacrystal gathering. [Nana was the driver who struck Kohei Sawaki's motorcycle three months earlier and fled the scene. The injuries from that accident contributed to the loss of his sense of taste, giving him a personal motive for targeting her.](#spoiler)
Kogoro Mouri is among the people present at Aquacrystal when Nana becomes caught in the numbered-target case. She is linked indirectly to him through the apparent pattern constructed around his acquaintances.
Conan Edogawa notices Nana's suspicious behavior and helps uncover the truth behind the attacks.
Minoru Nishina, Eimei Shishido and Peter Ford are fellow invitees at Aquacrystal. Their names or identities correspond to other numbers in the playing-card countdown that also marks Nana as a potential target.
Katsuyoshi Asahi is the owner of Aquacrystal and the person in whose name Nana receives her invitation to the complex.
