Nagisa Funami

Nagisa is friendly, direct and energetic. She is close enough to Chinatsu to speak candidly when her teammate is discouraged rather than treating the team's star with excessive deference.

Her practical attitude is valuable during competition. Nagisa understands that disappointment is unavoidable in sport and focuses on what the team can still do rather than dwelling indefinitely on mistakes.

She is also attentive to the history of her teammates. Her familiarity with Chinatsu and Yumeka Gotou gives her a clear understanding of how important their earlier friendship and rivalry were to both players.

Nagisa is an accomplished high-school basketball player capable of competing with Eimei at the national level. She contributes as a regular member of a team strong enough to reach major tournaments and remains part of its core through her final high-school season.

Her game is team-oriented. She supports Chinatsu on both ends of the court and is capable of recovering possessions and keeping plays alive when a teammate misses.

Beyond individual technique, Nagisa provides stability. Her familiarity with Chinatsu's style allows her to complement the team's ace rather than simply relying on her.

Nagisa appears throughout Chinatsu's basketball storyline as one of the teammates closest to her. She participates in Eimei's first national tournament shown in the series and is present through both victories and disappointing losses.

She also provides context when Yumeka returns to Chinatsu's life, explaining to younger teammates that Yumeka had once been an exceptional player and that she and Chinatsu had been close since elementary school.

Nagisa remains beside Chinatsu through their final high-school basketball campaign. During the Winter Cup qualifiers, Eimei faces Yumeka's Saisho team, turning the history among the three former teammates into part of a decisive competitive confrontation.

Chinatsu Kano is Nagisa's close friend and teammate. Nagisa supports her through difficult games and shares her goal of taking Eimei as far as possible.
