Personality
Personality
Miya is relaxed, blunt, confident, and accustomed to dealing with injured killers. Extraordinary wounds do not alarm her because patching up assassins is normal work at her clinic.
She makes exceptions selectively. Miya does not usually treat former assassins, but Sakamoto remains someone she trusts enough to help despite his retirement.
Her bedside manner is practical rather than sentimental. Patients receive whatever acupuncture, pressure-point manipulation, massage, or medication she believes necessary, whether or not they enjoy the process.
The ease with which professional killers seek her services suggests considerable respect across the assassin community. Her nickname "God Hands" reflects that reputation.
Abilities & Powers
Abilities & Powers
Miya possesses extraordinary medical and anatomical expertise. She is described as capable of treating virtually any combat wound as long as the patient is still alive.
Her techniques include acupuncture. She treats Shin Asakura with needles after his battle against Saw and provides Shaotang Lu with treatment for her condition after the same confrontation.
Miya also manipulates pressure points and muscle condition. A massage given to Sakamoto temporarily alters his physical state in a way that becomes significant during his subsequent confrontation with Apart.
Her work does not rely on conventional surgery alone. The series deliberately presents her healing ability with the same exaggerated competence that elite assassins display in combat.
Story Role
Story Role
Miya enters after Shin and Lu's battle with Saw. Sakamoto brings both of them to her clinic because their injuries require someone he considers genuinely trustworthy.
She treats the group and also examines Sakamoto, whose body has changed dramatically since retirement.
Her pressure-point work becomes immediately relevant in Sakamoto's fight with Apart, demonstrating that Miya's techniques can influence combat performance as well as recovery.
Later manga material returns Miya to the story as the changing JAA and its conflicts create further demand for exceptional medical treatment.
