Mita

Mita is professional and generally more reactive than Hirama, often voicing his frustration when suspects, witnesses or circumstances complicate the investigation.

He takes the Parasite case seriously and is willing to follow Hirama into increasingly unusual investigative situations. He also reacts strongly to Uragami's deliberately offensive behavior during the detection experiments.

Mita's instinct as a police officer is to detain people when their connection to a serious crime appears suspicious, sometimes placing him at odds with Hirama's more measured judgment.

Mita is an ordinary human without supernatural abilities.

He is an experienced police detective with skills in investigation, interviewing, surveillance and firearms. He participates in searches involving suspects believed capable of killing ordinary humans almost instantly.

Mita has no innate ability to recognize Parasites and relies on evidence, biological knowledge and specialized detectors when the creatures successfully maintain human appearances.

Mita works with Hirama during the investigation surrounding Kana Kimishima, Shinichi Izumi and the expanding pattern of Parasite-related incidents.

He later helps protect Shirou Kuramori while the private investigator prepares a detailed report on everything he has learned. When Kuramori disappears, Mita alerts Hirama, contributing to the search that leads police toward Ryouko Tamiya.

At Hikari Park, Mita joins the armed officers confronting Reiko. After Hirama initiates gunfire, the detectives shoot her repeatedly before stopping when she approaches Shinichi with her baby.

Mita later joins Hirama and Katsumata during the experiments involving Uragami and is present within the broader police operation surrounding the assault on Fukuyama City Hall.

Hirama is Mita's principal investigative partner and superior during much of the Parasite case.

Katsumata works alongside Mita and Hirama during later stages of the investigation.

Shirou Kuramori becomes an important informant whom Mita helps guard while he prepares his report.

Ryouko Tamiya becomes a major target of Mita's investigative team.

Shinichi Izumi repeatedly appears in the investigation because of his connection to Parasite-related incidents.

Uragami is used as a Parasite detector while Mita assists with the police experiments designed to evaluate his perception.
