Personality
Personality
Kishimoto is arrogant, hot-tempered and openly provocative. He is confident in Toyotama's high national ranking and has little hesitation about insulting players from other regions whom he considers overrated.
His temper makes him easy to draw into confrontations. He responds aggressively when challenged and embraces Toyotama's physical approach rather than trying to avoid contact.
At the same time, his loyalty to Toyotama's basketball identity is genuine. Like the team's other senior players, he remains strongly attached to the fast offensive system taught by former coach Jiei Kitano.
Abilities & Powers
Abilities & Powers
Kishimoto is a powerful offensive forward and one of Toyotama's leading scorers behind captain Tsuyoshi Minami. At 188 cm, he combines useful size with enough mobility to attack opposing forwards off the dribble and around the basket.
Toyotama's offense is built around extremely fast scoring. Kishimoto thrives in that environment, moving aggressively toward the basket and looking to score before defenses can become organized.
His matchup with Sakuragi demonstrates his offensive polish. Sakuragi's athleticism is exceptional, but Kishimoto initially possesses far more experience converting movement and positioning into actual scoring opportunities.
Story Role
Story Role
Kishimoto first receives attention around the Osaka tournament, where Hikoichi encounters Toyotama while gathering information. His dismissive remarks about Sendoh immediately anger the Ryonan first-year.
He later travels with Toyotama to Hiroshima for the national tournament, where the team meets Shohoku in the opening round.
The match reveals serious tension between Toyotama's players and current coach Kanehira. The senior players remain devoted to Kitano's offensive philosophy and resent the changes made after his departure.
Shohoku eventually defeats Toyotama 91–87, eliminating Kishimoto and his teammates in the first round.
