Personality
Personality
Midori is cool, professional and intensely loyal to Mansumi. His outwardly courteous behavior conceals a ruthless willingness to spy, manipulate and use lethal force whenever his employer's objectives require it.
He approaches shamanism differently from almost everyone involved in the Shaman Fight. Midori recognizes that supernatural phenomena are real but does not respond with religious reverence. He treats shamans as targets to be studied, monitored and countered using intelligence and technology.
This lack of spiritual conviction becomes unexpectedly useful. Because his worldview is not built around conventional faith, certain spiritually targeted techniques do not affect him in the expected way.
Abilities & Powers
Abilities & Powers
Midori is not a shaman and possesses no innate Furyoku or Guardian Ghost. He cannot naturally see spirits, forcing him to confront supernatural opponents through conventional means.
His primary strengths are intelligence gathering, firearms and access to Oyamada Company technology. He carries handguns and, when confronting Hao's followers, uses an M134 Vulcan to devastating effect.
Midori is also skilled at surveillance. He plants listening devices and tracks shamanic activity on Mansumi's behalf, allowing the Oyamada Company to acquire information that would ordinarily remain hidden from non-shamans.
Story Role
Story Role
Midori initially appears as Mansumi's secretary and participates in the Oyamada family's investigation of Yoh Asakura. He later accompanies Manta Oyamada and others during the journey to America while continuing to gather information.
His role becomes more threatening when the Oyamada Company begins actively interfering with the Shaman Fight. Midori secretly supplies information to Peyote Diaz and participates in the attack on Hao's followers, personally shooting Mohamed Tabarsi and using a Vulcan cannon against Hana-Gumi.
He continues spying on the shamans and transmitting information to Mansumi as the latter attempts to seize the secrets surrounding the Great Spirit. In later sequel material, Midori becomes a powerful businessman in his own right, operates under the name Mr. Green and becomes involved with Team YVS and Daremoine.
