Midare

Midare is confident, spiteful, and tactically minded. He regards his team's techniques highly and shows little hesitation when confronting other Chūnin Exam participants.

He is portrayed as more analytical than a simple frontline attacker, evaluating situations and supporting Team Shigure's coordinated assassination strategy.

His confidence becomes overconfidence when the team confronts Gaara. Midare and his allies assume that their projectile techniques can penetrate the Sand genin's defenses without fully understanding the automatic protection surrounding him.

Midare specializes in assassination techniques and uses Amegakure's rainfall as camouflage.

His Water Release: Hiding in Rain Technique allows him to conceal the sounds of his movement within falling rain, helping him approach targets without revealing his location.

He carries umbrellas associated with Team Shigure's senbon attacks and can participate in coordinated projectile ambushes.

His fighting style therefore emphasizes concealment, terrain, and surprise rather than direct exchanges of strength.

Midare enters the Chūnin Exams with Shigure and Baiu and reaches the Forest of Death.

The trio identifies Gaara's team as a potential source of the scroll required to pass the second examination stage.

Shigure initiates an umbrella-based senbon attack, expecting to overwhelm the Sand siblings through sheer projectile density.
