Temari

Temari is direct, confident, practical, and often intimidating. She rarely softens her criticism for another person's benefit and can become impatient with behavior she considers foolish.

She is nevertheless more cautious than her forceful personality suggests. Temari studies enemy techniques carefully before committing herself, preferring to understand range, timing, and weaknesses before attacking.

Her early fear of Gaara is genuine. Temari understands how dangerous her youngest brother can become and adjusts her normally assertive behavior around him.

As Gaara changes, Temari's relationship with him changes as well. Her fear gradually gives way to openly expressed concern, loyalty, and pride in the leader he becomes.

Temari specializes in Wind Release, channeling chakra through her giant folding fan to generate powerful gusts. Opening additional stars on the fan indicates progressively stronger attacks.

Her wind can cut through trees, deflect projectiles, clear terrain, and attack opponents across a large area. This gives Temari exceptional long-range control.

She can use Summoning: Quick Beheading Dance to summon the one-eyed weasel Kamatari, which sweeps through an area with a sickle while carried by powerful wind.

Temari is also a skilled battle analyst. During her Chūnin Exam fight with Shikamaru, she quickly calculates the approximate range of his shadow and repeatedly adjusts her position to avoid capture.

By Part II, Temari is a jōnin and one of Sunagakure's experienced Wind Release users, capable of participating effectively in large-scale warfare.

Temari enters the Chūnin Exams as part of the Sand siblings' team. She defeats Tenten decisively in the preliminary rounds, demonstrating the enormous advantage her wind techniques have over projectile weapons.

Her final-round match against Shikamaru becomes a tactical duel. Temari repeatedly avoids his Shadow Imitation Technique but eventually discovers that his earlier actions were part of a larger trap.

Although Shikamaru successfully captures her, he forfeits because continuing the fight would exhaust his remaining chakra. Temari technically advances, but Shikamaru's strategy leaves a lasting impression.

During the Sasuke Retrieval Mission, Temari returns as an ally after Konoha requests assistance from Sunagakure. She rescues Shikamaru from Tayuya and defeats the Sound Four member with overwhelming Wind Release.

In Part II, Temari frequently represents Sunagakure in dealings with Konoha and supports Gaara as Kazekage.

During the Fourth Shinobi World War, she serves in the Allied Shinobi Forces and fights alongside shinobi from multiple villages, using her wide-area Wind Release against large enemy formations.

After the war, Temari's longstanding connection with Shikamaru develops into marriage, and she settles in Konohagakure with their son Shikadai.

Gaara is Temari's youngest brother. Temari initially fears Gaara, but after his transformation she becomes fiercely supportive of him and his work as Kazekage.

Kankuro is Temari's younger brother and frequent teammate. Temari and Kankuro share a much more conventional sibling dynamic and often react together to Gaara's behavior.

Rasa is Temari's father and the Fourth Kazekage. Rasa's decisions surrounding Gaara profoundly shape the childhood of all three siblings.

Shikamaru Nara first meets Temari as an opponent during the Chūnin Exams. Their tactical match establishes mutual respect, and they repeatedly work together during later cooperation between their villages. Their relationship eventually becomes romantic, and they marry.

Tenten is Temari's preliminary-round opponent during the Chūnin Exams. Temari's Wind Release neutralizes Tenten's weapon barrage and allows her to win decisively.

Tayuya encounters Temari during the Sasuke Retrieval Mission, when Temari arrives to support Shikamaru and overwhelms Tayuya with large-scale wind attacks.
