Mei Mei

Mei Mei is calculating, self-assured, pragmatic, and openly materialistic. She measures much of the world in financial terms and makes no attempt to present sorcery as a noble vocation. Her official profile lists counting money as a hobby and taxes as a principal source of stress.

That greed does not make her incompetent or unreliable. Mei Mei understands that a professional reputation has monetary value and consequently takes assignments seriously once compensation is established. She is capable of assessing other sorcerers' worth with similar detachment.

She has little attachment to jujutsu politics. Because she operates independently after graduation, she can accept payment from figures such as Satoru Gojou without worrying about institutional factionalism.

Her confidence also comes from deliberate self-improvement. After deciding that her innate technique alone did not initially possess enough offensive force, Mei Mei trained her body until close combat became a major strength rather than accepting the limits of her inherited ability.

Black Bird Manipulation allows Mei Mei to control crows and share their vision. This makes her an exceptional reconnaissance specialist capable of observing multiple locations without physically entering them herself.

She can command birds to survey large areas, track individuals, relay battlefield information, and approach opponents from angles a human observer could not safely reach.

Her strongest application is Bird Strike. Mei Mei places a binding vow on a controlled crow that sacrifices the animal's life in exchange for an enormous increase in cursed energy, turning the bird into a high-speed projectile. The technique is powerful enough that very few targets are said to have survived being struck.

Mei Mei is also extremely proficient with a large battle axe. She compensates for what she originally considered a mediocre offensive technique through raw physical training, cursed-energy reinforcement, and efficient weapon use.

Her strategic thinking allows her to combine crows, her brother's support, and direct melee combat rather than depending on any single method.

Mei Mei appears during the Kyoto Goodwill Event as one of the experienced sorcerers monitoring the competition. She observes the students through crows and provides information to the event organizers.

Her independence becomes more important when Gojou pays her to support the promotion of several Tokyo students. Because Mei Mei is not personally invested in the school faction dispute, payment gives Gojou a straightforward way to secure her cooperation.

During the Shibuya Incident, Mei Mei operates with Ui Ui and Yuuji. Her team investigates barriers and confronts curse users before entering the underground sections of the operation.

She eventually faces the Smallpox Deity, a special-grade disease curse controlled through Cursed Spirit Manipulation. Mei Mei uses Ui Ui to understand the rules of its domain before countering with Bird Strike.

After realizing that the situation in Shibuya has become catastrophically unfavorable, Mei Mei uses Ui Ui's technique to escape Japan. She later conducts business from overseas while the economic and political consequences of the incident unfold.

Mei Mei subsequently assists the sorcerers preparing for Sukuna's final battle, contributing communications, financial planning, and access to her network rather than abandoning jujutsu society entirely.

Ui Ui is Mei Mei's younger brother, assistant, and most frequent partner. She trusts his technique enough to build strategies around him and exercises enormous influence over his behavior.

Satoru Gojou is a former school acquaintance and one of the people willing to pay Mei Mei directly for professional cooperation.

Yuuji Itadori temporarily works under Mei Mei's direction during the opening stages of the Shibuya Incident.

Atsuya Kusakabe is a fellow experienced sorcerer with whom Mei Mei later participates in strategic discussions.

Smallpox Deity becomes Mei Mei's principal direct opponent in Shibuya.
